Senator Jacqui Lambie is a one off. She spent over ten years in the Army, specialising in transport management and military policing. She achieved the rank of corporal but reduced in rank after assaulting a fellow soldier while intoxicated. She has since been an advocate for veterans with the Returned Services League.

Her political involvement began volunteering for Tasmanian Australian Labor Party. In November 2011 she joined the Liberal Party but said that she believes she was encouraged to run for preselection to achieve a spoiler effect in the branch to allow the preferred candidate to win and stated: "I didn't realise that Liberal preselections were … forums for nasty factional fights... After I found out the truth, I felt used and soon resigned from the Liberal Party."

She then turned to the new party Palmer United Party founded by billionaire Clive Palmer. In the 2013 federal election, Lambie picked up Tasmania's sixth Senate seat. In October 2013 she launched an attack on the The Greens, accusing them of having "destroyed all hope in Tasmania" and saying that the party should be subject to a Senate inquiry over the state's high unemployment rate. She said she had been gathering "intelligence" on The Greens activities and when she had enough she would "throw it across the table.

On the topic of National Service Lambie has stated that she supports a reintroduction, "Maybe it is time we placed national service back on the agenda but reconfigured to suit today’s conditions … It’s time to teach our youth some respect, loyalty and honour."

She has also stated that she opposes gay marriage, "… where we are not prepared to compromise is the word ‘marriage’. We believe this sacred word is used for a commitment between a man and a woman."

In June 2014 Lambie referred to the Prime Minister Tony Abbott as a "bare-faced, uncaring liar"

In July 2014 the Senator revealed on a talk back radio show that she hasn’t been in a relationship in 11 years but is open to love, “They must have heaps of cash and be well hung, let’s be honest, I don’t need them to speak, they don’t even need to speak to me.”

In August 2014, she expressed her belief that China could invade Australia, "If anybody thinks that we should have a national security and defence policy, which ignores the threat of a Chinese Communist invasion – you’re delusional and got rocks in your head...The Communist Chinese military capacity and level of threat to the western world democracies is at an unprecedented and historical high" and later added Indonesia as a potential military threat.

She is one of the few politicians that has realised what a threat to our society muslims have become and so far the only one with the guts to speak her mind about it.

I'm moving to Tassie sooner than I thought, so I can vote for her and keep her in the Senate.

Excuse the mouth, she practising her moves for when I arrive.

Did you know??? That high unemployment is good because it stimulates the economy and allows people to spend more time with their families? That if the Republicans sweep the Congress, it will mean the end of civilization as we know it? That legislative bills need to be passed before they're read so that we can find out what's in them?

I'll take Lambie over a nut-case like Pelosi any day of the week...

I was 4 years old at the time I do not remember this but I loved the show.

Thank you for the post. I know that this man was as important to our childhood as Soupy Sales, the Lone Ranger, Gumby, and Roy Rogers. But I now look at the other headlines. This is an important image that you have posted. Thank you for your post, sir.

Vesta Stoudt. The mom of two sons in the Navy during WWII, she worked in an ammunition plant. She had the idea to use cloth tape to seal boxes of ammo so they could be opened in seconds while keeping the ammo dry, potentially saving the lives of soldiers when time was critical. Her bosses rejected her idea and she went straight to President Roosevelt via a written letter. A few weeks later, she received a response that the Navy was going to “fast track” her idea, and thus duct tape was born.

Did you know?

Today (Sunday, Nov. 9,2014) is the 25th anniversary celebration of the destruction of the Berlin Wall?

If you are an Old Dude, you would know what a major step this was -- not only for the Germans, but for everyone else.

Some of us here were lucky, by birthplace. And many of us older dudes remember a time when we thought that fucking wall would never come down except in a nuclear holocaust.

My congratulations to a free people whenever it occurs.

President Obama was just in Australia for the G20 meeting, spouted the biggest lot of bullshit I've heard for years. Some fuckwit Australians were out cheering and screaming like he was a rock star. And he spent time cuddling a wimpy koala. Should have given him a Tassie devil to hold, that would have sorted him out, straight for the jugular.
