I'm pretty sure this is the same old apartment... just reconfigured. Esmi's room is where the Kitchen used to be and her old room and the spare room is where the living room and kitchen is.  The bathroom used to be the hall bathroom that had the bucket in the tub. It seems they lost the old master bedroom and bathroom so if their Mom starts showing up all the time, it could be where she lives now.

Not a chance, the shape and layout are completely different, there is no way the old apartment kitchen could be converted to a bedroom, it was way to small, the new apartment also has a full length balcony.
