Lots of jobs will STILL disappear because of AI. There will be other jobs, but not enough to replace the lost ones (I think).

There might be LESS doomscrolling after a while, because people with more time will grow tired of that sooner, and have more time for "passion projects" (at least some of them, and there's no helping those who don't anyway).

When AI makes a society change this fundamentally (we're still just at the beginning so far!), something HAS to be provided to keep a decent living for those who lose (part of) their jobs, or there will be major civil upheaval if those people are left to their own devices and can't afford rent, healthcare, transport,... even food anymore.

To be fair, they're going to have to give people a minimum amount of money just for existing (and not just in France) when AI replaces more & more jobs. Or divide the remaining labour in such a way that everyone only works 2 or 3 days a week but still has enough to live decently.

Universal Basic Income will be the norm once this AI garbage comes into full effect within the next five years.
