From gleaning posts, is it to prevent participants from viewing the comments? If so, do we know why was that decision made? If I ever sub to RLC again, that discourages people like me (non-antagonists 😉) from commenting, IMO, because I liked that I could sorta-kinda interact with them. Just wondering.

The reason for this is that allowing guests slows the website to a crawl, making it take a long time for members’ posts to go through, sometimes even causing the system to time out. Now, if guests want to access the site, they’ll need to create an account, and when I’m online, I can manually approve them as being validated for access. 1 1
