Maybe Anita is known to be a skanky girl around that part of town and Alex knows it. VV has damaged his soul and inside I think her regrets doing this. I think he hates himself for it and projects that anger onto Anna. Since Anna enjoys playing with fire, this all suites her perfectly fine. They do love each other, but their relationship is toxic and will end badly for both of them. Protitution definition: "The profession of performing sexual acts for money".
