You'd be amazed. Sometimes people are attracted to someone with the most ridiculous hair. Take Donald Trump, for instance...

Is it just me or is that guy with the dreadlocks the single most repulsive individual ever to inhabit one of these apartments? Where did they pick him up? How would you like to wake up and see that next to you? Not my intention to be mean...but come on!
-
Keep in mind that this would be their SECOND move. They used to have a worse apartment and moved here as an upgrade. Maybe they're doing the same thing now. Let's hope so. They are interesting and the "heavy" girl is one of my favorites and one of the nicest people on here. I wish people would stop picking on her. Let's hope that they show up in another, better apartment and that we can continue to watch.

TIME OUT! I've been ill and away from this site for about 6 months. So now I check in and what do I find? 1. Boxes and crap all over the apartment. 2. Alina looks unhappy and seems to be sorting her things. Lots of things already stuffed into bags and empty boxes waiting to be filled. 3. Alina's friend looks unhappier than ever and has gained more weight. 4. Boring Boy is in his usual place at the computer playing, oblivious to everything around him. 5. There is a live TURTLE wandering back and forth in the hall. No one seems to notice. 6. What the hell is going on? 7. Am I in the Twilight Zone? 8. Someone please enlighten me. I have to go lie down.

I've been away for a while and I come back to find this. There is something seriously wrong with this guy. [Just a wild guess.]

The fatass friend of Alina

I'm going to both agree and disagree with vantheman. I've addressed this issue before, but now let me be more specific. I don't think this girl's problems would be solved by a diet. Two days fasting will NOT sort her out. She has deep-seated psychological problems probably revolving around self-image and acceptance. She knows she's fat. But a kind of self-loathing prevents her from facing the problem head on and doing anything about it. She would love to be "like the other girls". It's sad to watch her try and fit in when there is a group there. The other girls put on makeup with such second nature and ease. With her, it's a tough ritual. Solution? She probably needs to have an accepting male care for her for who she is. Part of her love for him in return would be to re-shape herself to please HIM, not herself. Like most of life, LOVE is the great motivator and the ultimate answer. I hope it happens for her. In the meantime, we should just appreciate her for the nice person that she is, forget the wisecracks and leave her the hell alone. Don't make me come over there. [end of sermon.] -
Good for you Buster. I can't wait to hear his answer to this.

I rest my case.

Have you considered a course in remedial English as a possible entrée into the world of "girlfriends"? Perhaps the same institution might also offer a seminar in acceptable social behavior. Let us know how it goes.

Like a migraine. -
Somer 1 has asked a pretty reasonable question. Does the dog ever go out? Does it know anything about life beyond that apartment? Has it ever met another dog? And how will it react when they have a visitor- if they ever do. This apartment is a tiny place in which to live your whole existence, even if you are a dog. Of course, maybe that's just me. On this site I find the animals more interesting than the humans anyway. [for the most part] I think the point at which I bail is when the animals start staring into screens.

So here's the deal: Leora is lying on the couch next to Paul in very tiny panties. She even adjusted them down at one point. She keeps glancing over at him. Paul notices. What is his response? He picks his nose and examines it before finally taking his find to the bathroom. She remains on the couch in an apparently receptive mood. What's wrong with this picture?

I never thought i would say this......

It's hard for me to believe I'm saying this, but I must agree with the bulk of what vantheman has said. Over a period of time, I have begun to see that Paul is sincere in his behavior toward Leora, even if it's sometimes at a Neanderthal level. But that's not really his fault. She must have known he was not Mr. Sophisticated when she got involved with him. I'm beginning to think that she's a self-absorbed whiner who has an opinion of herself way above what the facts show it really is. She spends an inordinate amount of time primping and being camera-aware. And, although the dog was a good idea and is entertaining, it is way out of control. Dogs, like Neanderthals, sometimes just need love and attention. Most of those qualities, I'm afraid, are directed inward when it comes to Leora and her self-image. And what has happened to friends they used to have over? And so, vantheman, I think I agree with you that Paul is underappreciated and Leora is overrated. -
And you know this because...

Finally...someone making my point for me. You are absolutely correct. And not only does she have a beautiful face, she seems to be a soft, caring and kind person. Watch what happens to the illiterate morons on here when she finally overcomes what I think is a psychological issue with her weight. If she lost 40 or so pounds they'd be drooling all over themselves. Right now they're just drooling. But thanks for the insight. Very kind of you also. -
Alina & Anton Pictures - Split #1
billycox replied to Woof's topic in Alina & Anton (11/26/12 - 06/11/15)
Susan Boyle IS a diva. The word has to so with singing talent, originally used only for opera singers, but now freely associated with other great popular singers. Diva has to do with talent, not looks. Although who knows where the language is going, given that few people can spell, use proper syntax or even construct a simple declarative sentence. Nothing personal - just an observation. -

I'm with the Squirrel. I'm tired of defending this poor girl against attacks by people who don't amount to much anyway. -

jjs is correct, of course. Why are you constantly making fun of this girl? It's clear that you are not the brightest bulbs on the tree, but even young, insensitive, illiterate goons must have some shred of decency. LEAVE THIS GIRL ALONE. She probably has a psychologically-induced weight problem which she has not been able to conquer and about which she is painfully aware. Have a little understanding. She's a good person. She's a good friend to Alina. She's kind to the cat. She helps out when she's visiting. I like her. And when she finally loses weight, she'll be great looking and your immature tunes will change. Try to grow up at least a little. -
Where were you during the Kennedy Assassination?
billycox replied to itsme's topic in The Old Dudes Board
To answer the original question: I was teaching at the time and was not much older than most of my students. I was a few minutes late for class and found out very early about the shooting of the President. When the final announcement came, there was total shock among the students. One young lady approached me and said. "My God, Lyndon Johnson is now President." It was a stunning moment. As far as conspiracies are concerned, there were none. The President was killed by a crazy, pathetic little man who yearned to be someone. In his twisted mind, he altered history. Turn on your television. The madness is still with us. -
Alina & Anton Pictures - Split #1

Well, ozioziozi, you are right on the money. As I have stated before, more than once, please leave this girl the hell alone. Her only problem in the eyes of the insensitive and illiterate is that she is overweight. [note that most of the criticism comes from people who have trouble writing a simple declarative sentence without grammatical errors]. She is a loyal and good friend to Alina. If she were to lose 45 pounds she'd be the best looking female on here. She's kind to the cat. She appears not to judge Teen Boy at the computer. I like her. My guess is that she has emotional problems centering around self-image and exacerbates the problem by eating. The day will come when things will straighten out for her. In the meantime, have a little compassion. Don't make me come over there. -
She was playing the keyboard and singing from the score of "The Sound of Music". IN ENGLISH. On many levels, these are interesting people.

OK. So once again I'm coming in late to the situation and find that I have to add it to my growing list of "I don't get it." Sofia seems nice enough and attractive enough. What I don't get is what she sees in Ferret Face. It's similar to the Alma situation with Goon Boy. What in God's name ever attracted her to him in the first place? I find the same situation here. But then, that's just me..."I don't get it."
-
Well, ar2d2, I have no idea what the above illiterate response has to do with your question, or for that matter, anything resembling common sense, but it certainly doesn't come close to answering it. Nij is most likely closest to the correct point of view. Many people on this forum are not here on a scholarship. You can't expect sensitivity or insight. You'll also receive a lot of negative and nasty comments when you post something having to do with the human condition. Your best bet is to refuse to engage in a battle of wits with people who are unarmed.

Sorry to see Alma go. She certainly was a nice person and far more deserving than what she got from the Goonmeister. As far as he's concerned I'm about as sorry to see him go as a recent case of foot fungus I had. A loser from the word go. And mean. And completely unaware that he was Jerk of the Year. Other than that...
