Thoughts for the day Split #3
Ozi replied to Foamy T. Squirrel's topic in Worldwide Political Discussions
Linked, I interpreted the poster as a bit tongue in cheek, a bit of sarcasm, not a criticism of capitalism, but the fact, like you stated, the politicians have fucked it. As for who does what and who relies on who, that's a never ending circle: - If I didn't make it, you couldn't buy it and you'd have nothing to transport so wouldn't have a job. - If I didn't transport it, there's no point making it 'cos no one will be able to buy it. - If I didn't buy it, there's no point making it or transporting it. In other words, we all need each other. -
I know what you meant (I think, I hope).

I stated the image wasn't as good as Chaturbate, that's not a complaint, that's a statement. At least you are smart enough to acknowledge it's staged nudity. -

RLC was never Real, but at least it used to have some semblance of a reasonably normal existence, allowing for cameras 24/7. Maya and Stepan do give the impression of normality and don't play up to the cameras, or hide from them. Most of the rest have their moments, some more than others. However, watching Ilona's exhibitionism, and Leora's for that matter, is not voyeurism. -

How is this any different to Chaturbate? I know, the image is no where near as good. -
Is that it? She would have got more pleasure watching him wank and he probably wouldn't have known the difference.

Will McAvoy is a fictitious character. Some of the statistics stated may be facts, but the rest is just an opinion put together by a bunch of writers, the scene isn't based on fact. Show me someone who actually said that stuff. You should check out "The Newsrooms Wiki" According to the storyline, recordings of the tirade spread across the internet and McAvoy's public profile is severely damaged. The writers wrote it as a negative not a positive according to the public's perceptions. So much for the concept of the greatest 4 mins of television. Brigitte Gabriel is a real person, quoting some facts and stating her opinion. It wasn't based on anything, it actually happened. -
That is the truth, you would be told to fuck off, mate. Anyway, I'm not American, so your kumbaya bullshit doesn't apply to me.

Whatever its name I wish it would learn how to climb like Dasha's cat and stay out of the way. (The Image Content is No Longer Accessible and has been Removed)

(The Image Content is no longer accessible and has been removed). I think Masha is experiencing a common problem: "With excess aerobic activity comes the increase in the hormone cortisol. As this rises so does your body’s blood sugar, in a sense you are actually going to start creating more insulin because of this. More insulin means more insulin resistance. More insulin resistance means more fat storing down the road. Although you may think you are burning fat, you may just be losing muscle and then storing more in places that will be hard to get off later."

Funny you use the analogy of a few guys drinking in a pub, not sure about America, but if you spouted that crap in an Aussie pub, you'd quickly be told to fuck off.

This is actually the best 4 mins and it's not a movie script. -
Now it is getting ridiculous? That has to be some sort of revelation. Well done.

First of all, I don't profess to be a subject matter expert in all things military, but I am an SME in my specific fields, which does cover some of the above topic. Secondly, you acknowledge never having served in the military so possess no formal military training, yet claim to understand the rules of engagement. By chance, you did get one thing right, the rules of engagement probably do need to be reviewed and changed, but you can be sure of one thing, will not include the intentional harm or death of innocent, unarmed civilians. As for the dead Navy SEALs, I was happy to follow your lead on potential outcomes, but don't rely on a movie based on fact. One of the most significant causes of their problem was lack of adequate comms. A conscious decision was made not to kill or harm the goat herders, instead opting to abort the mission. Fortunately for Luttrell he didn't have that kill on site mentality, otherwise he would have shot the villager that found him and ultimately saved his life. You are lucky because you never have and never will have to make those choices.

The ultimate goal of all muslims is the same. The difference between the radicals and the moderates is the radicals want it now and use force to achieve it, the moderates are patient and prepared to wait and let nature take its course.

Don Shipley: For those unfamiliar with the name, Don Shipley is a former SEAL himself. But what he seems most known for these days is his work in calling out phony Navy SEALs and other military impostors and frauds. Over the years, with them in the news from the beginning of the Iraq War and the public's increased wartime reverence for valor, SEAL has become a “popular” title to fake. Shipley has been quoted as estimating that “there are over 300 SEAL Impostors for every living Navy SEAL.” Captain Marshal Hanson, USNR (Ret.) and CPT. Scott Beaton: This is hard to believe, losing nearly 711,000 between 95 and 00. That s 390 per day. During this Census count, the number of Americans falsely claiming to have served in-country is: 13,853,027. By this census, FOUR OUT OF FIVE WHO CLAIM TO BE Vietnam vets are not.

What, this photo from yesterday didn't do it for you, or was it the wrong profile? -

Apologies TxFeller, I meant to say "Probably like you, I was way too young for Korea and too old for the Nam conscription etc. Know you are mature but not geriatric. -
Firstly, it's really good to hear from some real soldiers. It doesn't surprise me anymore as to how many navy seals, special forces and recon snipers there are out there, more than were ever trained. As I've also mentioned before, a pet hate of mine, 3 out of every 4 Vietnam Vets are fake, taking support and benefits away from those that deserve them. Secondly, there's also the recognition, reading between the lines, that not all soldiers are combat soldiers. The ratio used to be 4 support staff for each infantry soldier, but in Iraq and Afghanistan, I know this was as high as 7 support staff for each infantry soldier. All trained to use a weapon, but few actually required to do so. In fact, if it does get down to combat support shouldering weapons, the shit has truly hit the fan. But, being able to field strip a weapon and achieving a nice tight grouping on a controlled range, doesn't prepare you for combat or even the capability to defend yourself with a split second warning. Instinct and muscle memory developed after training and more training and more training and, believe it or not, more training. You have to be one of the best soldiers already to be selected for special forces, 18 months of intense training to qualify you for more, on-going daily intense training. Instinctive reactions and muscle memory begin to deteriorate immediately after you stop that intensity. But hey, all we have to do is get all the armchair warriors to don a uniform and draw a weapon and send them to the middle east. They'll fix the problem in no time. Or we could just get the ones that think a bomb will fix it.

Mate, don't ever sell yourself short, the Aussies were in Korea as well as Nam. I was lucky, I was way too young for Korea and too old for the Nam conscription. But the muslims made sure I didn't miss out. But I still catch up with vets from Vietnam, one Maj only recently retired from active service, and we compare notes a lot. I still see Korea as the forgotten war, not talked about much, overshadowed by Vietnam. The casualties were horrendous in Nam, with the Americans suffering almost 47,500 combat deaths in ten years. But no one remembers America had 33,600 combat deaths in Korea in just 3 years. The 3rd Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) holds a special commemoration every year for the Battle of Kapyong, proudly displaying the Distinguished Unit Citation awarded to them by the US President.
