COVID-19 Provisional Counts - Weekly Updates by Select Demographic and Geographic Characteristics WWW.CDC.GOV Tabulated data on provisional COVID-19 deaths by age, sex, race and Hispanic origin, and comorbidities. Also includes an index of state-level... Nationally, the number of new cases fell 2% last week, the sixth straight week of declines, but the number of new infections still averages more than 41,000 a day. Last week's total of U.S. COVID-19 deaths was down 7% from the previous week and averaged 900 deaths a day. The United States tested on average 715,000 people a day last week, up from 685,000 people a day the prior week, but down from a peak in late July of over 800,000 people a day. Nationally, the share of all tests that came back positive for the new virus fell for a fourth week in a row to 5.8%, down from 6.3% the prior week and below a peak of nearly 9% in mid-July, according to data from The COVID Tracking Project, a volunteer-run effort to track the outbreak.

A new Centers for Disease Control report shows 94% of people who died from COVID-19 in the U.S. had contributing health conditions. Reality check: While the cause of death listed as solely from the coronavirus occurred in 6% of cases in the U.S. from Feb. 1 to Aug. 22, this doesn't mean that the virus was not a contributing factor or, indeed, the leading cause in the other 94%. The U.S. virus death toll would be much lower if this were the case. It's well established that people with underlying medical conditions are at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19. "People can live with obesity, diabetes or heart disease for years but then get infected with COVID-19 and die quickly," CNN points out. For the record: For deaths with conditions or causes as well as COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death, according to the CDC. The CDC reports the leading underlying medical conditions related to coronavirus deaths were: Influenza and pneumonia. Respiratory failure. Hypertensive disease. Diabetes. Vascular and unspecified dementia. Cardiac arrest. Heart failure. Renal failure. Intentional and unintentional injury, poisoning and other adverse events. Other medical conditions. By the numbers: In the U.S., more than 183,000 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus as of Sunday night, per Johns Hopkins data. Almost 6 million have tested positive and over 2.2 million have recovered.

He probably has a little old inch high private eye, and that is why he covers the cams LMAO 🤣 I would too if that was the case. -
I actually like Kitty and think she is very pretty, and I wished her mom would come around a little more often as i think her mother is hot and would love to see her get drunk with them again.

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below. She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude. She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!" "I am," replies the man. "How did you know?" "Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me." The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat." "I am, replies the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Now think about this ? When I was a HS sophomore – decades ago! – my World History teacher was Mrs. Holloway, but we all called her Granny Holloway. She was a slight woman, scarcely 5 feet tall, seemingly fragile, but full of vim and vinegar….you know the type. She could speak for hours about the Fall of the Roman Empire, the Inquisition, the Industrial Revolution, and the World Wars. She never sat while she lectured, never stood at a lectern, but moved around the room making eye contact with all of her students. She was demanding too, and I can’t remember how many papers were sent back to me because she would note “you can do better than this, Miss Schaal.” One day during class, an office aid interrupted her lecture to hand her a note. She read it silently, apologized, and said she needed to leave the room. We knew it had to be important because Granny Holloway stopped lectures for no one. We sat in the room talking to one another when the door opened, and in walked Mrs. Abels, another teacher in our HS. She explained to us that Granny had been faced with an emergency, a serious one, and it was questionable if she would even be returning to finish out the semester. We were stunned. Would we get a chance to tell her goodbye? Would we get updates, so we would know she was ok? Mrs. Abels assured us that we need not worry, that Granny was safe but needed time away, and that the best thing we could do for her, and the best way we could show our devotion to her, was to be cooperative with her replacement. Mrs. Abels confirmed that she had been asked and had agreed to step in as Granny’s replacement. Cheer up, she told us, this could be a good thing. Other teachers still believed in endless homework and projects with deadlines and hard work. She would not bring that into our class. She believed in clean slates. If there were grades that we did not like, she could give us a chance to bring them up. She asked us what suggestions we had to make the semester a better learning experience. Someone mentioned that lectures were boring and we wanted more films. Done, she said. Someone else mentioned that a free day now and then would help us if we needed to catch up on work in other classes. She didn’t see a problem with that. She asked us how we felt about an end-of-semester party. Um, yeah, sounded very good to us. And on and on. Mrs. Abels listened intently and agreed to all of our suggestions, continually emphasizing that her concern was that we have a good learning experience and enjoy the semester. She also reminded us that we were lucky to not be sent out to other classes where we would be working to catch up, and that of course this was all for Granny. Near the end of the period, shortly before the bell rang, the door opened and Granny sauntered in with her usual Granny Holloway attitude. “How did they do?,” she asked. “Marvelous,” said Mrs. Abels. “They were completely in my hands.” Granny then faced us and said “And that, my students, is how a dictator takes over a nation. Not with guns or tanks or laws or mandates. They do it using a poster child and promises and gifts and protection from an enemy.” I can’t remember a lesson all through 12 years of public school that made such an impression on me, and has stayed with me.

'There is no absolute truth': an infectious disease expert on Covid-19, misinformation and 'bullshit' The idea with bullshit is that it’s trying to appear authoritative and definitive in a way that’s not about communicating accurately and informing a reader. Hyper-partisan media are making a huge mess of this, but that’s on purpose. It may even be that some of the research is being done with an implicitly political context, depending on who the funders are or what the orientations and biases of some of the researchers Calling Bullshit by Carl T. Bergstrom, Jevin D. West: 9780525509189 | PenguinRandomHouse.com: Books WWW.PENGUINRANDOMHOUSE.COM Bullshit isn’t what it used to be. Now, two science professors give us the tools to dismantle misinformation and think clearly in a world of fake news...

China cover-up: The brutal treatment of expert who tried to tell the TRUTH about COVID-19 A CHINESE professor was brutally dismissed from the Chinese Communist party after voicing concerns of a coronavirus cover-up in China. Cai Xia, who has worked at China’s elite Central Party School, questioned on President Xi Jinping and the country's COVID-19 figures. Coronavirus is believed to have emerged from a wet market in Wuhan in December. China has been accused of both censoring medical experts speaking of a new disease and providing fake coronavirus death tolls. Now a former worker of the ruling Communist Party has joined a number of personalities casting doubt on the veracity of the data. Ms Xia was dismissed from the party on Monday after a tape recording of her branding Mr Xi as a "mafia boss" was leaked online. Having now left the country, she told the Guardian that China was destined for catastrophe as "people cannot speak the truth. "Wuhan’s epidemic spread across the country and the whole world and everyone has been harmed. "Chinese citizens have borne the brunt and among Chinese people, people in Wuhan suffered the most. "We have so many people dead, including people like Li Wenliang who should not have died. "About the number of deaths, up to now China has not even said a real death number." China has reported 4,634 coronavirus deaths so far. This figure places the country in 27th place of most affected nations by death globally. Critics said this figure is impossible given the high comparable death tolls of far smaller countries. Another factor fuelling the claims is that the disease was allowed to spread for weeks before prevention measures came into force. Ms Xia said: "Officials at all levels hide the truth and report only when they cannot cover up any more." A Chinese newspaper has lashed out at her "blatant betrayal." Studies from June indicated China's COVID-19 total could be 14 times higher than the nation’s official figure. She added that her standpoint was now "free from any constraints". United States experts who carried out the research suggested China may have been experiencing as many as 2,000 daily fatalities during the peak of its outbreak. One expert has also said this month that China's ruling party also "purged" a key database from a Wuhan lab. Cyber security expert Robert Potter said analysis of leaked figures from a Chinese data leak seemed to reveal "major discrepancies" from the figures they gave the World Health Organisation. China's honesty was also doubted when a doctor who said her bosses censored her warnings about COVID-19 suddenly disappeared in April.
