The Problem: To the best of my knowledge RLC doesn't explicitly IP ban people. However, they do one of two things: 1. Throttle the bitrate such that the cams become very laggy, and the picture becomes pixelated and unwatchable 2. Apply some kind of pixelate filer that makes all of the cams pixelated and unwatchable I am not EXACTLY sure what they do or how they do it, but I can tell you they do something like I mentioned above. They did it to me and the cams became virtually unwatchable when using my home IP address, or the IP at my office (the only two places that I've visited from). Initially, I thought it might be a problem with RLC, but low and behold when I use a proxy or visit from an IP that isn't associated with my home or office everything works fine. They had banned my account at least twice before, and I believe on third time around they began throttling or filtering IP's that I had used to login from. This is actually not a bad trick on their part as it makes people suspect that there is a connection problem that simply can't be fixed and stop visiting the site, rather than a punishment that they might be more inclined to try to get around. How to know if you're being punished by RLC: 1. ALL of the cams are blurry and pixelated 2. ALL of the cams are slow and laggy ALL of the time 3. Everything looks normal when connecting from a new IP address (I.e. coffee shop, neighbors wi-fi, etc.) The solution: 1. Buy proxies (Or scrape your own) usually around $1 USD per IP per month: https://www.myprivateproxy.net/buy.php 2. Install Firefox if you don't already have it: https://www.mozilla.org 3. Install an add-on called Foxyproxy: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-uS/firefox/addon/foxyproxy-standard/ 4. Once it's installed open Foxyproxy (there should be an icon next to your URL bar) and click on "Add New Proxy", Type in the Proxy IP address and credentials for the proxy (you will get credentials when you buy proxies) 5. Click on the "URL Patterns" tab, and use the following URL Pattern: *reallifecam.com/* - Make sure that "White-list" and "Wildcards" are checked 6. Go to RLC and everything should work normally Note: If you follow this tutorial correctly ONLY RLC will go through the proxy and you can switch your IP as often as you want (Obviously, depending on the amount of proxies that you have). How to avoid being caught: 1. Don't post pictures or videos ANYWHERE online that have the RLC watermark in them 2. Don't use the same username on CC and on RLC 3. Not sure what you're trying to say. That didn't translate correctly. In any case, when RLC banned my account all of the free cams suddenly became grainy and basically un-watchable, like they were applying a pixelate filter, or drastically throttling the bit rate. When I tried at a different location or used a proxy, the picture was crystal clear. Perhaps they were just targeting me because they banned me a few times, I don't know, but that's exactly how it looked.

I only posted that article to give some perspective. There's a lot of interesting commentary on the subject. Essentially, all the world super powers are now involved in a proxy war in Syria that is only escalating and could get very ugly. It's like a tinder box waiting to ignite. I have Ubuntu installed in a VM, but honestly I haven't found a great use for it other than playing around. I don't think there is anyway that I would replace windows with it. What do you all use it for?

Apple makes pretty things that have nice looking user interfaces. However, in the business world Windows is king. Apple products are a pain in the ass to try to support, and depending on the industry it is impossible to find compatible software. Even for power users it is a pain to try to find programs that run on Macs. If all you're doing on your computer is browsing the internet, using Office, and watching porn then Apple is fine. Another draw back to Apple products is that they are expensive for what you get. You could build two Windows systems with the same hardware specs, for the price of one mac pro. As far as Android VS Apple, the android store is much larger than the Apple store and you can customize Android devices far more than you can Apple devices.

RLC will have to switch to HTML 5 at some point as flash is going to be blocked in all mainstream browsers. I am not sure what their streaming infrastructure looks, but if it's based on a Flash system such as Adobe Media Server it's going to be an expensive upgrade. As far as Apple products go, I've always been a Window and Android fan boy. However, I was recently given an IPad and I really like it for general web browsing and e-mail, probably better than android. That being said I wouldn't switch to Apple for anything other a tablet.

You're putting yourself at a greater risk by using an operating that's end of life was more than a year ago. Mainstream support for XP ended in April of 2009. What that means is that your operating system is vulnerable and to ANY exploit that has been made available since that date. If you are still using Office 2007 you are missing out on many great features and improvements. I would highly suggest upgrading to at least Windows 7 and Office 2010. Personally, I run Windows 10 professional, and Office 2013. As far as the other programs that you mentioned they all have newer version that run on both Windows 7 and 10. Computers really aren't that expensive any more, you could get a decent system for ~$500, it's time to upgrade. Many newer programs don't even run on XP any more, and your hardware will be holding you back from truly experiencing modern computing. The purpose was a demonstration of force and intimidation in connection with the position of Russia in Ukraine and Crimea.
