Your first assertion is true but I am not sure about the conclusion. Life is also easier if you have people living with you and if you are married that is far more likely to be the case but whether you can put that down to love is another matter. There probably has been some research but I'd have to look at closely before I decided how valid it actually was.

There is plenty of evidence that married men live longer but there could be other factors.
