IMO, this closure is also for repairs and renovation, including the Bogdan and Nelly suite, and perhaps the garage. And maybe the pool needs repairing, or the network connection. There is also a space at the bottom level that never had cams. That said, B-7 is older than B-4. I think you are right but it is going to take a very long time before B7 might be back; the layout was terrible and the garden with the pool is beyond saving. Quote
gaizpa Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago RLC is a bussiness run by amateurs, that's their biggest problem. At the same moment they turn off b7 cams, they should be informing the subscribers about their plans with the villas, if it's just renovations or if it's for good, if there is new oppenings planned and stuff. That should be mandatory when you run a bussiness: respecting your customers, because they are not doing us any favor, we are overpaying the service they are offering. 2 1 4 Quote

I will add one more possibility. This spring has seen more rain in Barcelona then I remember. They have cleaned the pool but did not fill it. B-4 and B-7 are built on a steep slope. It is possible they have not filled the pool because the ground beneath the pool is unstable. They may have brought in a structural engineer to examine the stability of the pool and/or the villa itself. The abruptness of these departures suggests to me that a structural engineer may have told RLC to evacuate the villa, because of unstable soil. Also, there was a 2.9 magnitude earthquake in Barcelona five days ago. While this is a minor earthquake, it may have worsened any soils instability under the pool and/or villa.. The more I think about it, the more I feel this closure is related to the stability of the structure and/or pool. Quote

Has the almost total lack of communication from RLC always been there? IF they do have exciting things planned, communicating those properly could lead to less people terminating their subscription during turbulent times like right now. 1 Quote

Quote

No indication that any of the tenants were aware that the villa was closing. That lends credence to what I speculated in the post above. An engineer or government inspector has visited the villa, and ordered it closed. Quote

Until now it's been like you say, but losing a villa from the offer will hurt a lot of subscribers. I think this time RLC will suffer a lot of cancellations. The went way past the limits. But, again, why they don't comunícate their bussiness plans with the subscribers? That should help us to understand everything it's happening there. 1 2 Quote

Very good posts and actually it reflects the majority of the issues a RLC subscriber faces . To be fair , the MAJOR problem seems to be in the Barcelona hub , it is like that currently the project there is run either by auto pilot or just people who try to understand how this business should be . I think we should NEVER forget the expectations that most of the subscribers had , the awaiting of the “ new “ B7 villa to be brought online , it indeed brought some memorable moments . It is really funny to see that they have now “ unplugged “ 3 apartments in 2026 , the one permanent and the others nobody knowing what really goes on . The worse seems to be also that the situation isn’t getting any better or improving , at the moment it is the opposite of the “ best is yet to come “ , it looks like the worse is yet to come . 1 1 Quote

I will bet good money that when Alexandra and Lucien woke up this morning, they had no idea they would be a RLC apartment this afternoon. They were thrown into the breach, as the saying goes. Madison may be the next to re-appear on RLC. Quote
