woodworker Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Nat King Cole is one of my all time favorite singers. Thank you again Rubberball. I don't why I hadn't posted anything from him up till now. But you reminded me of just how good he was.
TBG 150 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 I know. Wrong thread, but welcome aboard RB50. Since when is anything kept on topic here. Save that for the apartment threads. Nearing 60 here and have the gray hair to prove it.

woodworker Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 In this picture, minus the hat, he looks a lot like James T. Burris. Who was right there with me, side by side, during the heyday of the gang. He was as tough as they come. So long Jim.

He was as tough as they come. So long Jim. This man was a great singer gone long before his time. The drugs and alcohol finished him off but I guess that's common amongst big names when they have lots of money. Lots of great singers followed the same path. Such a shame. As the old saying goes. Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes. As far as I can see, Nobody can.
woodworker Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 That song came out in the year of my birth. I think my mother may have caught me humming it a few times in my cradle.
