Here we piss and moan about CC Mods

the problem is that we should ban everyone in this case, even you

Correct! I've trolled quite a lot recently. It is deliberate! I wanted it to go out of control, because then maybe someone would see that this is trolling. As the forum is now, it is either troll or be trolled. Giving warnings upon warnings, but never any penalty, means the rules have absolutely no effect on those who choose to ignore them.  I'm just doing what I have to do to survive in an anarchy. If you Moderators had managed to create a climate where we could have civil debates and disagreements, I would of course try to follow that. But right now, it is pretty much impossible to stay civil and polite in this warzone of a forum.

The other day I posted some pics from the attachment center that were posted in the private club, but not in the forums. I did this in an effort to undermine the club and try to end it with the hope of getting everyone back posting in the same place for the good of the forums and really the good of all involved. There is absolutely no rule against me doing what I did, yet I was attacked by many members and called a troll among other things in the open public forum. I had members openly calling upon all other members here to ignore me and put me down. Indeed a gang of bullies descended upon me in open like vultures at a slaughterhouse. I purposely did not attack these people or say much of anything other then to explain why I posted the pictures. All the moderators did was quietly clean up their mess. I was really hoping that this time maybe they would get punished like I have several times. Surely calling another member a troll is pretty much the worst thing you can call someone in a forum, no? It is essentially calling their whole self a fraud and a lie. There is no worse insult in a forum. Anyways, what happened to them? Not a goddamned thing that’s what. The moderators here are biased according to their own self interest. Thus, the rules are applied accordingly. A good moderator only sides with the house, never the players.

A good moderator actually moderates, to put it frankly. The policy on CC is that everyone should just ignore insults and personal attacks against themselves.

A forum moderator oversees the communication activity of an Internet forum. He monitors the interchange of contributors and makes decisions regarding content and the direction of threads. Moving discussions from one section to another to keep topics organized is also a common job for a forum moderator.

If the tone of a forum becomes hostile or starts to move in the direction of personal attacks, the forum moderator usually has the discretion to lock the discussion to prevent heated, interchanges. He may also be able to hide discussions he deems unworthy of further discussion. Conversely, topics he feels deserve further examination can be posted indefinitely by the moderator even if they garner no comments.

Moderator duties are as diverse as the forum topics themselves. Some moderators are virtually invisible; they surface only when situations arise that do not seem likely to resolve themselves. Other forum moderators are always there, ready to intercede at the smallest hint of discourse. Public forum moderators often have to enforce many rules of conduct and decorum, as public contributors tend to communicate without abandon, which can sometimes upset other commenters.

Private forums linked to a website or group often operate a bit differently. The forum moderator is likely to be familiar with the members, and may be more lax in enforcing rules if he is aware of bantering members and their tones. Standards differ greatly in forums, and newcomers are advised to post with caution until they get the general feel of the forum's atmosphere. Regardless of the forum topic or ambiance, most prohibit the exchange of illegal or copyrighted materials and pornography and many shun swearing or using inappropriate language or images.

Moderators are sometimes encouraged to join in discussions, especially if they have expert experience or advice to contribute. Other forums prefer their moderators to remain totally objective and mainly serve as impartial enforcers. Occasionally a forum moderator will pose as a contributor to steer a discussion in another direction or offer input without fear of posing a conflict of interest.

In addition to acting as the parent or guardian of forum content, forum moderators are also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the forum in other ways. This requires knowledge of HTML and acuity at moving, merging, adding, and deleting text, graphics, and links. Contributors will often ask moderators to assist them with technical problems with site access and posting.

Supplementary duties of a forum moderator may include relocating discussions to more appropriate sections, closing or locking threads based on dwindling interest or lack of recent activity, editing posts for clarity or content, and deleting threads. Thread deletion can either be temporary or permanent, depending on the wishes of the forum moderator.

If an abusive contributor refuses to cease unacceptable behavior, the forum moderator usually has the discretion to ban the user. If the offender continues to post and eludes the ban, the moderator may opt to access the user's IP address. This enables the moderator to ban the address instead of banning the user by name or email address.

Was anyone punished in any way for what that angry mob did to me? I don’t consider deleting their hateful words as punishment really. In what forum is a mob allowed to run amuck on a forum and publicly insult other members in the open forum and nothing happens to them?  I did not violate ANY rules! I wonder what would happen to me if I followed someone around constantly calling them a troll. No need to answer, I already know.

Although this forum is member-driven (not Moderator-driven -- we are all unpaid members, after all), there are things that happen here that you don't see, sometimes relating to your complaints. Members are responsible for their posts, and the Ignore Function should be used when trolls show up, since these creatures should never be fed.

I think Mods should all wear ModCams, so you folks can see how much fun we have cleaning up these childish food-fights.

It sucks.

Keep the Apartment threads clean and sparkly, and Foamy will be a happy squirrel.

This moderator opinion is meant for ALL MEMBERS! It is not particularly directed to any member in particular.

So my takeaway from this nice little video is that the best forum is one where no one says anything at all. It'll be great! You moderators will love it cause then you're truly have nothing to do at all. Bliss! Keep fucking up idiots! Think I'll go download some porn.

Actually, I'm one of the original free speech guys. And I hate the rules. We shouldn't be in a position that we would need them. But I think that cuz I'm old school, and learned forum etiquette on Usenet. I'm the nice, warm, fuzzy and tolerant Mod. So be sweet to me, and I'll be sweet to you. Especially if you can send me a 1,000 piece jig saw puzzle to pass away my quarantine time cuz RLC's been pretty slow lately and somebody else has been hoarding all the pecans from Walmart...

I promise to ban myself tomorrow for being off topic. That will prove that I'm a hard ass for banning people for breaking the rules, and everyone will fear my wrath and will know that I take this place very seriously.

So here goes for you bored ass quarantined folks who are non-essential and want to perfect your artistic abilities:

This is why I hate feuds between members. Incidentally, in the matter of feuds, both parties usually get called out on it. And then we mods get attacked by both sides. ("But mommy -- he started it!")

I was supportive of banning one none-Premium member from WorldWide Politics (also supposed to be unmoderated), because he was clearly an outsider hired by a campaign to spread propaganda throughout social media. In other words, an outside-of-CC troll. Your "enemy" also got a dressing down. Personally, I just hate dealing with Mod Reports from tons of members who are not involved with the feuds and are tired of scrolling through such childishness. If people enjoyed viewing such attention-getting self-indulgence violence by posters, they can always go hang out at 4chan.org/b.

Dressing down? Hardly! All you guys did was cover over their assault on me and enforce dividing lines. Yeah, that really solves the problem. The result is a forum with tiers. The clubbers poke into the forums and retreat back to the safe zone to gather their strength and team build. It is a club sized bully with the primary principal being anti-Amy3. People who used to be fairly neutral joined the club, made a pledge, and became an army. They are no longer individuals. They follow a single mindset whether they believe it or not. Your forum is a fractured mess with pent up hate, anger, and underlying animosity running amuck. If I were really a troll as they say I am, I should be happy with this result, right! Guess what, I’m not happy. I would much prefer for everyone to be individuals and equals in a single forum.

I have been reading all the comments by everyone regarding this club---IMO it boils down to one thing--Amy3 is pissed off, got her feelings hurt, and is upset because she was not invited into the club--

Yes, clubbers probably do retreat into the social group that they enjoy interacting with and exclude those whom they do not want to interact with.

Same happens in real life--not everyone wants to associate with some people--so they are not invited to parties and social gatherings.

So a lot of the times, those excluded just accuse and point fingers at the others, rather than take an honest look at themselves to determine just why they were excluded--
