My friends kid eated ice creams without problems... Maybe could depend on the specifications. The only main precaution has taking care with wind and don't leave house if possible, if leave have some protection on the throat area

I was a little kid when i got it done, and i was a drama queen, so it was probably not as bad as i remember it. It worked out for the best,  All the bad sore throats i was getting went away
