I, will never understand their relationship. But, regardless of what we think of him. 1. He is the other half of the Leora and Paul apartment tenants. 2. Leora, definitely loves him, and she is the recipient of Paul's love and attention, albeit sometimes it seems Eva gets more of both than Leora. But, then Eva is adored by both Leora, and Paul.
