No Politician has a Clean Track Record just look at Trump in the US tells everyone he's a Genius when he's really an Asshole who won't admit it.Β

She must have done some good as she was Re-Elected a couple of times to be UK's PM for 11+ Years.

Hi Stone,I could just as easily sayTony Blair was PM for 10 Years and must have done some good and he was on the opposite side of the house. As you well know it doesn't matter what democracy you live in the opposition in Government always know's best and sooner or later the sitting party runs out of steam and it is the voting public who decide who fucks up next(not to put too fine a point on it).

Regarding my comments about Socialism: Let me just refine Socialism to be called what it is: "State Capitalism," where the state controls major means of production of goods and services, and redistributes them by political whim. This is done to enhance the political power of the ruling elite, and economic liberty is often taken from those who generate the wealth and given to those who do not generate wealth but can be trained to become large, dependent and dependable voting blocks.

It's not unlike the United States. For example, the US Federal government controls the primary retirement system, the primary Medical system, the public education system, the student loan system (all of which were problems when run by Free-Enterprise and Free-Markets, but are now "fixed and operate perfectly" :dodgy:) The Obama Administration even nationalized GM and gave it to the Unions to run. Of course, the English did that with formation of British Leyland Motors. That worked out great, didn't it?

Let's just say England's version is "Socialism Lite," new and improved. Buy it or else. But at least you "voted" for it.

(Russia and China have it worse, along with Venezuela and North Korea. They are "State Capitalist Extra Bold" and certainly need to control their people by force and dictates. And I miss my RLC ladies because of it.)

A good Scottish morning to you your highness,πŸ˜€

Your post is very interesting although some of it is quite heavy for me as I am not very well acquainted with US politics. However l thought that your first paragraph(and dare I say it)smacked of Communism which I know is not the case in the USA.

Also I would like to point out to you your use of the word England when referring to British politics.

At the moment we are a United Kingdom and policies and decisions are created and voted on by MP's from four different parts of the country not just England.

I know full well that you being an informed and intelligent person you know all this already but your terminology was wrong.

Am I getting excommunicated from CC for daring to speak out against our Lord and MasterπŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

That bitch(Thatcher)will never be forgiven North of Hadrian's Wall. When the rating system on property was to be replaced by a Poll tax/council tax system she didn't have the guts to use any of the home counties(South of england/London area for fear of upsetting all the wealthy contributors living in these well to do areas who supported her.Oh no she and her cohorts that knew fuck all about Scotland decided that we would be the testing ground for this new system. Were we asked ,no chance .That arrogant cow imposed it on us whether we liked it or not.I'm sorry Stone but bringing the unions to their knees was nothing to be proud of and as for what she accomplished well that my friend is definitely a matter of opinion. For the record I am not a Communist or a Fascist.I am a Scot who wishes Scotland to be Independent so being Labour or Conservative(never)doesn't really enter into my politics.Rant over

The primary failure in the "Community Charge" [The Poll Tax] as it was properly entitled was the British Civil Service who were determined to sabotage it. In the UK we have since WWII been really governed by the Civil Service with the politicians making less than 1% difference to government spending, whichever party is/was in power. Michael Mates warned Margaret Thatcher at the time that this was being done and that the proposals would be VERY unpopular. The fundamental idea of everyone contributing something (however small) was good one, but the design by the Civil Servants was poor and the idea to experiment/trial it in North Britain (Scotland) anΒ appalling one. I was raised in Scotland and still support them in the Internationals, but I confess I am very happy not to be living in Salmond/Sturgeonland now. As RobwinΒ says "be careful what you wish for!"Β

The BBC fail to acknowledge their left leanings by adopting the language of the political left. For instance government spending/expenditure has become "investment", butΒ it started with the "Poll Tax" which has always had historically unpopular connotations and associations. The failure of the Rating system, with which we all still have to live, is and was the failure to update the valuation base on which it is levied. That is a part (admittedly only a part) of the reason town and city retailers are failing now; the falling rents in town centres have NOT been reflected in reduced rateable values [on which the Rates are notionally based] or the Rate Β£age charged by councils. Most thinking politicians acknowledge that the basis of local government taxation ought to change but there is no consensus as to how to achieve this.

I suspect Dave 27 and I would actually agree on many things; Unions are a power for good, but had become over-mighty in the 1960s and 70s in the UK, to the point where they attempted to dictate government policy, and neither the rubbish was collected nor the dead buried during the "Winter of Discontent" under the then Labour government. Their power did need reducing at that point. My rant over also :<))

From what i can gather the only restriction being suggested is that users will have to prove that they are 18 and over.

Whats getting our intelligent politicians in a spin is the best way to do this whether it be by credit card, driving licence or whatever means. But as i understand it you will only have to do it once then you will be free to roam where ever you like. Personally i would not have many resevations in doing this ( i think credit card is probably pushing it a bit though) as after all everybody bar the man in the fucking moon seems to know my email address and is able to send me crap all the time lool. To be on the voting register you have needed to give some fucker the neccessay information already so much of it is already out there anyway flying around in the atmoshere somewhere lol.

Suppose one other way is to use a VPN thus bypassing the UK system entirely. Anyway we shall wait and see what the powers that be come up with eventually i reckon.

By the way @Foamy T. SquirrelΒ where have you got the idea that we have aΒ Socialist Government, yes they are crap up to a point but certainly not socialist. That lot are in opposition with Wurzil Gummage and his crack team ( a bit of an exageration lol) leading it. Though crack is rather a relevent word recently as most of them now it seems have experimented with in one form or another inΒ past years according to their own revelations.
