In Maine, a school district sent a statement to parents on equity that read, “In a culture that continually reinforces white supremacy, justice can only be achieved when we confront and repair the anti-Blackness woven through every aspect of society—in our homes, schools, workplaces, communities, places of worship, and government.” The San Diego Unified School District “announced mandatory diversity training for teachers, added a new ‘ethnic studies’ curriculum focused on racial grievance, and even abolished the requirement to turn in homework on time—all in the name of becoming, in the words of school board member Richard Barrera, “an anti-racist school district,” reported Christopher Rufo. One training featured Bettina Love, “who believes American schools are guilty of the “spirit murdering of Black children,” he wrote. very informative & interesting. so i would bet the house that most if not all of the people pushing to not teach crt have no idea what it has to do with. it is being used to scare people into believing that their rights will somehow be taken away. the instances where crt themes are already imbedded seems like it is taught as part of actual real life. so that would mean that outlawing crt is meant to be forcing teachers & schools to not teach about real life if it hurts someone's feelings. that seems to be the point of banning it from schools in the 1st place. here is an idea. how about if we use schools to teach about reality? then we can encourage discussion & possible solutions to actual problems instead of scaring the shit out of people who don't even understand anything that affects their lives. we all need to start communicating & exchanging ideas rather than being afraid of things that may or may not ever happen or may not exist at all. whatever is going on now certainly isn't working. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
