US General Domestic Politics #34 Begins 09/27/21.

Recommended Posts

Immigrants from all over the world are trying to come to America in order to improve the standard of living for themselves and their families while at the same time Democrats are working to lower the standard of living for American citizens in order to get Americans' standard of living more in line with the rest of the world.

The country was in financial crisis when Bush left office because of the collapse of the subprime real estate market which was caused by the Affordable Housing Act pushed through Congress by Democrats Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. The act forced banks to give mortgages to people who had no ability to make mortgage payments. That policy resulted in a real estate boom and then a financial crisis for lending institutions when so many those mortgages became delinquent.

of course bush's borrowing for wars had nothing to do with it. wake up & smell reality once in a while.

Immigration is how we started, asshole.  Racist pile of shit.

I think Foamy answered this in his post, but Immigration was instrumental in the formation of the population of the US in early years and the need for cheap labor.  Cheap labor is still needed, but with the left and the unions constantly raising wages--cheap labor is no longer relevant.

From the Cato Institute.

"U.S. immigration policy is effectively closed borders, and Biden’s immigration policies and goals are largely the same as those of [ex] President Donald Trump."

Then why does even President Obama refer to the current border crisis as open borders??

2 separate articles with the same heading:

Former President Barack Obama said open borders are “unsustainable” and called for comprehensive immigration reform to the “dysfunctional” system as the Biden administration grapples with what Obama called...

Former President Barack Obama described the idea of having open borders as "unsustainable" and called for a reform of the immigration system in the United States.

And further this article provides incite as to the real reason of increase in southern border activity

Playing to the Democratic base on the issue while ignoring the need for more enforcement has merely exacerbated the problem.

Biden needs to admit that his eagerness to roll back Trump’s immigration policies without a meaningful plan to deal with the predictable migration increase has led to chaos at the border. While many voters wanted a kinder, gentler approach than Trump’s, Democrats cannot simply wish away the need for effective border security and immigration regulation short of declaring open borders — a deeply unpopular idea carrying numerous economic and security risks.

The numbers are stark. More than 100,000 migrants attempted to enter the U.S. in February, more than three times the amount for February 2020 and the highest level for the month in five years. “Internal  DHS/HHS reports show the crisis at the border is significantly worse than Biden admin has acknowledged,” But tacitly the administration has conceded there’s a relationship between the migration surge and Biden’s change in both tone and policy. “Surges tend to respond to hope,” Jacobson acknowledged, “and there was a significant hope for a more humane policy after four years of, you know, pent-up demand
