And this is because even in hospitals, the spread of germs/bacteria is real & the usage of PPE is to prevent that (either way, from patients to health workers or vice versa). So Covid or not, PPE is important to protect our health workers because they are in the frontline in the fight against infectious diseases. Just having a mask on is not enough for them when they have to care for Covid patients or any other patients who may have infectious illnesses over long period of time.
