Her absence was planned and she was not due to return until April 3 so she probably had an accident for having returned with one leg in a cast and above all having returned 1 week earlier

The original return date was 20th March, this was revised to the 23rd and then the 30th, She returned on the 27th.

RLC haven't noticed she is back yet as it still says the 30th.

It's reasonable to assume that she had the accident towards the end of her arranged holiday and the return date was put back accordingly, I'd suggest her coming back 3 days earlier than the last update is a result of her 24/7 dedicated medical team saying she could do one.

As an aside does anyone know if housemates get paid while on vacation? could explain why so many appear not to tell RLC.

If that is the case Harley needs to get on the phone.

That is a serious cast on her lower leg.  Quite likely a fractured tibia or fibula.   She may have had metal rods or pins inserted to stabilize the leg as it heals.  Large area of bruising on her inner thigh.   Sutures (?) in the area of her lower knee / shin.

She is/was at risk for blood clots from this sort of fracture.  Also of infection if this was an open fracture, (the bone broke through her skin).  If this injury happened somewhere other than Barcelona, the doctors may have told her not to travel for a while.

In the United States, which has the worst health care system of any First World country, the average cost of treating an open fracture of the tibia is about $20,000.

I believe health insurance is required for residents of other countries who are in Spain on an extended stay visa.  IMO, RLC should pay for this insurance, or reimburse participants if the participant obtains the insurance directly.

As has already been quoted in the thread she has a carrier bag, which is a discharge bag for clothes etc from a Paris Hospital.

Health care is not free anywhere...in Germany, they send you a bill for you  to forward to your travel insurance.

Can't tell by the hospital bag which hospital she was transported to after her injury.  Likely taken by ambulance.

There are 44 hospitals in Paris that are designated AP-HP,  Assistance Publique -  Hopitaux de Paris.

Only if these girls are smart enough to have travel insurance.  They mostly think with that thing between their legs than their health.
