If the sexual part of the relationship isn't over it's wound down to a state of extreme famine. Even if they perform when she comes back, I won't be convinced. It's usual for a normally healthy and attractive young couple in love to engage in some kind of sexual behaviour - if not actual sex - on a daily basis. Definitely issues in that department. I can't believe Paul no longer finds her attractive, so assume he is avoiding intimacy because it's stressful for him to be observed as he consistently under-delivers. The flip side to that is, as a lot of Leora's self-concept is wrapped up in her appearance, his apparent lack of interest would be undermining her confidence and pushing her to test whether she is still attractive to other men. Except it's Leora who seems to be doing most of the rejecting and I don't think she doubts her attractiveness just has given up that Paul will ever be the lover she needs. In fact now I think about it, they don't really do much talking outside of what seems to be obvious day to day stuff eg "what shall we eat", and "look at the funny guy on TV".
