Alex temporarily put the NV illuminator on the floor on opening night when Dean and Misty went in there. Looking back on the timeline it looks as if it has been unplugged (power socket by the door) and possibly pushed under the bed to stop people tripping over it.  I assume the permanent mounting of it is part of the list of jobs for Alex, which also includes mounting the extra cameras.
