The problem is that there is so much saturation in the porn industry and so much of it is free that even the most in demand actress don't make as much as actresses did before the big porn surge in the mid 2000's. Therefore every girl must try to become her own "brand" in order to make the most money from exposure. And some nowadays will even try to make a name for herself first before trying to get into the professional adult industry. I don't watch nearly as much professional porn as I did 10+ years ago but I still follow the trends of the industry and the workers whenever I can.

There's nothing to suggest that anything is obvious. Even in the US, it is very common now for even established and popular porn girls who have been in the industry for many years to make money on the side by camming or even stripping in clubs.
