People like dependable, consistent performance in their operating systems. MicroSoft always provides that; they never seemed to waiver, although Win95 and Win7 were fairly buggy about providing the expected consistent MicroSoft behavior and the accustomed MicroSoft user experience. Let's see if Win10 can outdo the success they had with Vista! ;D Myself, I'm waiting out Win10 as long as I can. Hey TBG, yes we need a sarcasm emoticon on this board.

I've only used IE a couple times, and that was to download Firefox on a fresh Windows install. And I'm sticking with Win7 until I figure out Win10's surveillance and data harvesting problem. Something looks a bit totalitarian about it for my tastes.

I had this same problem for a while after an Ubuntu upgrade, but only with Chrome. I couldn't even get the font icons. It worked fine on Firefox, however, so I used that for posting comments. You might try various browsers and see if they behave differently. I expect that there will be plenty of glitches with Edge, especially since MicroSoft has not been known for designing decent browsers.

I see my statements have been taken out of context. It is a popular belief that the US is the reason for all the violence in the world. Actually, most Americans would rather not be world police. There is the fact that Russia, who was cleverly neutral in the WWII Pacific Theater, suffered great losses taking Berlin and nearly all of Eastern Europe. If you want, you can say that Russia won the war. Still, I think, if those "violent" Americans had sat that war out in the comfort of their homes, then I would not be having such discussions with my Western European friends, and the Iron Curtain would have enclosed the whole of Europe. My point was that much of the problems in the world derive not from my previously happy continent, but from Europe itself. We Americans got stuck with cleaning up the previous wars, it has cost us our earnings, and I would be happy to see the British Royal Navy protecting the world's shipping lanes again. Let's note that when the UK was top dog, everybody in the world bitched about them, too. The US had a monopoly on the atomic bomb, and did not use it once it ended the war with Imperial Japan. Had things been different, and Stalin or Hitler had this weapon, you can bet they would have not hesitated to use it, and none of us would be discussing anything on the Internet at all.

I am referring to World War I and World War II. The Middle East situation was sparked by the death of the "Old Man of Europe," followed by the damage caused to the British Empire and French Empires by World War One. It was later compounded when the US and the Soviet Union dashed in to clean up the mess left by the death of European Imperialism during World War II, which led to the numerous proxy wars that followed. Suffice to say, the world was better off with Pax Romana, Pax Britannica, and Pax Americana, that it would have been without them. Trade and technology improved during these periods, international commerce shipping was safer, and life spans increased. As the chart shows, there has been huge decline in deaths from war, going from 300 people per 100,000, to 1 person per 100,000. I suspect that will change abruptly as the US continues to decline, and I don't wish to be involved.

Politically Incorrect Jokes
Foamy T. Squirrel replied to KarenKraft's topic in Worldwide Political Discussions
Nobody knows anything about "true" Republicans. There are only about 12 of them left, so they don't get any press. The rest of them are actually Democrat state capitalists, and the Democrats are all state capitalist ComIntern dupes and operatives. -
We're glad to hear that. Cuz we'd be worried about you if you did. ;D

Just a little military technology and history to spice up your day: http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/the-pointy-end-of-northrops-flying-wings-then-and-now-1729178685 When I was a little boy squirrel, we used to see these Northrop flying wings fly overhead. We were also treated to sonic booms. Unfortunately, this was in a populated area, and people complained about broken windows, and the government decided that flight test operations should be moved out into the California desert for security reasons. It disappointed us boy squirrels tremendously, but we still had our little green army men and dinosaurs to play with so we survived. And the girl squirrels got Barbie dolls. We should have kept all those toys in the box. $$$

I agree with Kenny. They're a nice, normal, down-to-Earth couple. They don't fight and they love their animals and their animals love them. And everybody doesn't like something, but nobody doesn't like Super Girl Maya.

This Apartment
Foamy T. Squirrel replied to HarleyFatboy's topic in Nora, Kamila, & Kristy (11/21/14 - 09/07/15)
Get ready for Season 2, Episode 1. I expect some new guest stars. As for myself, and am overall quite happy with the attractiveness and acting ability displayed by last season's guest stars. Milana won me over by flipping us the bird; Kami is extremely pretty, Kristy was fun as hell, and Rita captured the hearts of many a CC dweller. -
Solo Nora
Foamy T. Squirrel replied to mccoy76's topic in Nora, Kamila, & Kristy (11/21/14 - 09/07/15)
I don't think the people at RLC care what anybody else thinks, since, in their business, there is no such thing as "bad press." Their experimentation at this apartment increased traffic, and will continue to do so, and traffic is the name-of-the-game as far as web sites are concerned. It's a B&B4Babes, and it sure generated huge posting activity at CC, too. -
Obviously, you've never heard of the National Endowment for the Arts, an independent government organization that uses tax-payer funding to promote diversity in the arts. Although famous for the "Piss Christ" works, I think this piece is right up their alley, so to say. ;D Many thanks to StnCld316 for posting this, now I feel cultured and in step with our government's program for promoting fine arts.

The SFV (San Fernando Valley) porn industry probably cranked out more movies than Hollywood ever did, and at lower cost, since their film studios were usually middle-class suburban houses with lots of beds. They ruled the video-tape porn market. The Internet pretty much destroyed them, just like it did to printed publications (ie, "dirty" magazines.)

Leora & Paul Pictures - Split #1

Anything in service to the goddess, as long as you stay downwind and keep to your territory. Furry tails gotta work together. The dogs don't have a tail at all, but that Swampy doll, well, it's a plushy. Might have some competition there... -
I'm a Goldwater conservative. Therefore I am a registered Libertarian, just not from the pot smoking branch of the party. All Americans who are conservative are libertarians. We are extremists of a different sort than that which floats around Europe, therefore Europeans (especially Marxists and National Socialists) cannot understand us. Here's the point, and it is a fulfillment of principles first fully explained in John Locke's work. The purpose of the government, over which we the people are sovereign, is to maximize the LIBERTY of each individual to the maximum practical extent. Therefore, real American conservatives currently don't think the Democrats should be robbing our bank accounts and we don't think the Republicans should be sneaking into our bedrooms. What we earn with our sweat and honest efforts is ours, and what we do with other consenting adults is nobody's business but our own. Re: marriage -- It's a contract between two people. The job of the State is to fricking record it so it can be adjudicated in the event of dissolution or death. Period. Re: war -- The purpose of the Federal Government is to protect the borders, represent the States in the matter of foreign policy, and enforce the Bill of Rights. The cheap greedy bastards can't even to that right... Good. Now you can all quit ragging on Left Wing vs Right Wing. It's an irrelevant concept. Either you support individual liberty or you support the power of a centralized government that will inevitably be corrupted by its power.

What is the age group of our CC members

What is the age group of our CC members

Damn, I'm shocked. Judging from the quality of the comments usually posted on this board, I thought we were inundated with 13-year-olds. Just shows to go that physical age does not necessarily correlate to mental maturity levels... ;D 8) Now excuse me while I go over to Old Dudes' Board to discuss the perils of prostate glands with my compatriots...
