I said I don't believe it was permanent or even possibly long term. I also believe, in a lot of cases, if people like Alex do change for the better, it's only until no one's watching or there are no other witnesses except the victim. I'm also not delusional in believing that anything in this world is perfect or ever will be. Be it a person, place or thing, nothing is perfect. Having said that, I think violent abusers like Alex should have a different, stricter set of rules applied to them. 1
