The cough has a reason for being: it is a reflex that helps us to eliminate irritants and infections from our body, such as mucus or smoke. However, when it becomes persistent it can be irritating - to us and to those around us - disrupting sleep, work and other everyday activities. As a general rule, an uncomplicated coughing episode resolves itself in a short time, but there are signs that should prompt you to seek specialized medical help. Know how to distinguish them. 1

A cold that is dragged on can quickly become chronic and endanger the heart and circulatory system. Maybe she'll do that on Monday too. I hope so. Having a full day out won't help, but she was never going to stop in today.
pulo filipe Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 What can cause a cough? Most cases of coughing are caused by a cold or flu. However, especially in cases of persistent cough, other causes may be involved, such as: Certain medications (such as some antihypertensives) smoking Gastroesophageal reflux Allergies (eg "hay fever") Infections such as bronchitis Presence of mucus in the throat Lung cancer (although it is rare that the cough is due to this type of more serious illness) 1
