Of course that is the BIG question!  And fundamentally the answer is obviously NO IT IS NOT REAL.  

We can peel back the onion on this.  At the highest level the view looks like this:  There are several billion homes/families/singles living on this planet.  How many of these families have homes that are wired with cameras that broadcast on the internet?   I can't imagine there are no more than several thousand ... maybe even 10 or 20 thousand ... but the point is, this is infinitesimally small.  So from this perspective, it is not real.  Very few people live like this on the planet.

The next question is ... ok, within this context, what does it mean to be real, and based on that, is this real?  I have said several times, a better word is "authentic".  Imagine two people deciding to "try RLC" and the expectations going in of this couple could be just about anything.  They could be fuck buddies that decide to do this for fun.  Or they could be a couple in a committed relationship.  Or a couple with an open relationship.  Who knows.    So, is Martina and Alberto real?  To me the answer is YES as long as this truly is a couple that is very open, committed to each other, and trying to make a life together.  That is what they want us to see.  If that is the reality, then I say yes this is real and authentic.  But if they are just old friends and fuck buddies doing this for fun and they don't really intend to have a life together, then this is as fake as what we saw in Leora and Malia's apartment.

Having said this, I do think Martina and Alberto are authentic.  But OMG they give us so many reasons to question this ... as we watch them as a couple and map what we see to what OUR OWN experiences being in couples relationships.  How many couples are there where one party sleeps alone at night and the other is OUT from midnight to 6AM?  How many couples allow one partner to have free and open sexual relationships with others?    These are not common behaviors, at least among the audience here (important point BTW).   It doesn't mean they are not an authentic couple because couples have all sorts of ground rules and what works for them won't work for other couples, etc etc.  But these behaviors really do make it difficult for us to get to the truth, don't they?

Sometimes I wonder if RLC could incorporate something you see in reality TV shows.  In such shows, often you see the "cast members" talking directly to the camera about how they feel or what is on their mind ... in such a way that they communicate to the audience directly without the other cast members knowing or seeing.  This could really enhance the experience ... but I wonder if it would destroy other aspects of the experience.  The other enhancement I would ask for is closed captioning in multiple languages!

I don't think contributed anything new to our collective understanding of Martina and Alberto ... but I enjoyed writing this.  I'll stop here so DD can easily go bigger 🙂 .  I am trying to practice a LESS IS MORE strategy!  EDIT:  Just saw DD beat me with a two line post and I have egg on my face now.

      Well, well...seems like I might have started something here that I really didn't intend. But now that its started let me make a clarrification. For quite some time now I have used the word "soap opera" to describe what the hell was going on primarily with the Martina/Alberto and Nelly/Bogdan thing. I meant that in a good way actually because I really, really thought it was fun to watch. And like you just said, these two couples seemed "authentic"...even though some here don't really like any of these four people. I still believe that the Martina/Nelly thing is authentic, even though I still profess it was an accident RLC didn't expect. What a great opportunity for a "real live soap opera" without a script...at least for a while. I mean, Hollywood writers could not have done better. So my attitude has always been to sit back and enjoy it for what it is...a real life drama. I get your point about how very few people have experienced the kind of stuff Martina and Nelly have gotten into so maybe it seems less "real" . But that's exactly the reason people seek what they don't quite understand. Its what creates drama. Its what creates food for the voyeurs like us. Now do I think there is a possibility that RLC could have already gotten involved with "scripting out" the Martina/Nelly affair? Sure, and of course, we the paying customers would suffer most from that. I want this "authentic" drama to continue because as a voyeur, its more than fun...semi-addictive if truth be told.

        So thanks again for your great post. A lot of us here are on your wavelength. Keep them long posts coming...they're really fun to read on a rainy September day.

Perhaps RLC did not expect Martina and Nelly hooking up; however, I believe they fully intend on things like M&N happening.  Why else put people on cam for an adult site and not intend for them to get to know each other and hook up?   There will always be a segment of the RLC market that will be for monogamous couples who enjoy showing the world how they make love.  But this gets boring quite fast.  So RLC needs to have some drama and more sexual action which is the thinking behind GOV and perhaps apartments like Gina and Bruno's and Masha's.

Of course, perhaps for the very pure voyeur, RLC is perfect as it is.  Look how excited DD gets when Radi exposes a very subtle new sexy side of her for the first time.  I respect DD for being true to his passion; however, I am not convinced there is enough people like him to sustain RLC.  On top of this, what I learned is that we see something cute and sexy and new for the first time ... it is awesome seeing it live with everyone else who is watching live and commenting here.  It is not so exciting when you hear about it here and go look for it on REPLAY and you already know how the movie ends.  In my short time here, some of my best memories are the party scenes, Martina & Nelly's second lovemaking in Nelly's bedroom, Masha's activities ... etc. THOSE times when we were all watching in live for the first time and wondering what we will see.   Of course, there are a ton of these that fizzled out and I coined a term "death march" to describe those nights.

Getting this right is clearly a challenge for RLC.  It is a delicate balance.  They need open minded girls (and some guys) who are not unwilling to hook up with various partners ... but they don't also want a pure porn actor who just fucks to make money. 

Lastly, we keep referring to the "script".   I always thought this was sarcasm but now we use the S-word so much it feels like we all believe there really is a script that is handed down from RLC and these cast members have fairly specific marching orders.  I don't believe this and would be interested in what others think.  My guess (just pure guess) is that RLC provides some money and "thought starters" for things like the parties, the shows, etc. and that is about it.  They might encourage cast members to visit other apartments ... or maybe there is a little bonus money if they do.  I can't imagine the direction from RLC being much more than that.  Otherwise, why would they NOT order more hot scenes.

I think you described it to a "T". I would say that maybe the bonus money isn't what it was during the "casts" previous visits, but for some reason they are all on either a strike or work slowdown. My thought is the only way to get this ship turned around is to get the current cast to leave en-mass (and this includes Prague) and bring in all new fresh people with no history on RLC and with the old participants. Unfortunately, I think this is beyond RLC's capability to organize and fund. As it is, I personally downgraded to Standard because there is nothing to watch on replay that I haven't seen numerous times before. I just want to be able to see when the lights finally go out. And unless there is an interesting discussion going on, like this one, I have gotten into the habit of checking CC a couple times a day and that's it. Which is a shame since there are a lot of good people here (even the new Harley!) that I have really enjoyed conversing and trading ideas with. But there is not much to talk about anymore.

Pay cut is something I have heard. OK, Gonna go long here and probably piss some people off.

I think the worst thing to happen to RLC since the Great Purge was to move Leora to Prague. She immediately picked up all her fans, and anybody that missed the old days gravitated to her. She even got me to re-subscribe after I let my sub expire. Since arriving in her new apartment she has set the bar as the ultimate "showgirl". It only took me a few viewing to realize that she was no longer the Leora of old and was pandering to her select group of fans who were convinced that her feces had no odiferous value. The other girls being tech-savvy as that generation is, saw how little she was actually doing and figured why not me? 99.9% of the world will only work as hard as they have to. There was always some shows going on in GOV, they were usually my last choice when we had the old regulars in Russia, but her influence made it So. Much. More. Obvious.

So with the shows, viewership has dropped, revenue has dropped and possible pay cut's. Just my $.02

In the past, girls have made huge amounts of bonus money on top of their normal payment...The more active the girl, the more money they made. The behaviour of most of the girls now suggests to me that  bonus money isn't what it once was...hence hidden bates, the lack of wild parties and so on...

Some months ago , I said that RLC was under the “ LeMa “ virus .. that is having 2 girls who pretend enjoying whatever they have been doing for more than a year , only to gather the spotlights , live a luxury life and to their mastermind , enjoy all of the fantastic privacy life they have outside of the apartment , with part of the money that goes from our subscription to this very apartment . 
 

Two girls that have been fooling the audience , still collecting the bonuses , having the second best apartment in the whole RLC and going against the number 1 RLC rule “ the private life of other people 24/7 “ .. they have had zero showing of private life in their apartment , as good friend moos54 has repeatedly said , such actions in the past led for RLC to have participants moving out .. But no , it is Leora ( and yes I get it , the person that elevated and made RLC known and for sure many credits to her ) and RLC needs to “ protect “ the once referred as “ The Queen Of RLC “ by any means necessary .

 

In my humble opinion , it isn’t a coincidence observing carefully the facts and things happening gradually to the ( Barcelona apartments ) other places , there has been soon after an incredible reduce of shows , reduce of tenants socializing too( yes I know , the virus but still Gina and Co. never had issues , summer 2020 and till end of 2020 it was also quite a lot of events ) , in general ,a slow but very obvious downgrade of things happening. I came with the explanation that the Barcelona tenants aren’t any stupid , why should they bother and expose themselves and do nearly everything and perhaps getting paid even less than “ the Queen and the Princess “ who have been hiding everything , yet , they still had a super incredible life outside the apartment with friends , lovers , social events and so on … Therefore , the actions in Prague slowly impacted Barcelona ( the so called and invented / christening 😂😂🤣 “ LeMa” virus ) , they slowly all stoped also doing things .

 

We had a small period of a possible “ fire in the house “ with two of the most amazing girls that ever joined and they instantly gave the boost that RLC needed , only to “ sink “ so very soon after with the whole RLC Barcelona atmosphere , I am talking about Elian and Tesla . I don’t know if it was Nelly and Bogdan , the rest of the girls , the leaked video , but I only know that these two girls came determined to provide content , they arrived in Barcelona to live in a villa and simply “ absorb “ everything of the luxurious life in a villa during a summer in Barcelona ..hopes soon were “ buried “ like the majority of things happening ..

 

Fast forward , we reach today , “ the Queen “ keeps on living her luxury life , her only contribution is to walk naked , spreading her legs and have an “ army of followers “ melting and supporting each and every step she does , which ultimately keeps on feeding her with the bonuses and enjoying a “ private “ life in front of cameras 😂🤣😂🤣.The what ?A private life ? Nice joke …here we are , autumn 2021 , only yesterday also we experienced also at an apartment that lived perhaps the most beautiful of them all , a super model type, Kitty , the one who would stare the cameras and tease and dance and so much more some years ago , having also the covers and masturbating underneath 😱😱Who ? Kitty , the one that at least she was always pleasing her fans with this while she had her problems with her boyfriend , Smith .
 

The conclusion is that it isn’t any coincidence at all whatever is happening , “ the Queen “ keeps on with her luxury and I dare to say that she might be the highest paid tenant ( she deserves , don’t get me wrong ) while doing and showing nothing of her privacy ( except of course her often masturbations for the hardcore audience that the majority of RLC members who watch her as one more apartment are deadly bored watching ) , that’s the reason then  for all of these people to do anything more than simply sit back , relax , enjoy the easiest stay of them all ( since the majority are now repeaters ) by doing nothing , just wondering around naked at times , eating , sleeping , movies watching and so many daily life things since their only “ obligation “ ( according to many people here at the forum ) is to just be on cameras and not putting anything to cover them and such things .There you have it , cameras 24/7 , people living in front of them , getting paid for it , that’s all .For more , as long as elsewhere for the same life people get paid perhaps even more , why should they do ?

Thanks @albundy1089 lol,  here is some things that I think is a major problem with RLC.

The "script"....do I think that RLC hands the workers a script with play by play of what they should do minute by minute. The answer is no.  Do I think RLC hands out work instructions for a week or biweekly or monthly, the answer is yes.  RLC is a business and in every business there are work instructions and those work instructions must be followed out and if not, when it's time for the workers WPR (Work Progression Report) they will either get a poor..fair..good..above average..or and outstanding mark for a particular category.  This is what enables employees to earn more money, change their employment status (regular worker to supervisor or supervisor to an area manager.  It gives the employees something to strive for.  Examples of particular categories would be Appearance, Cleanliness, Understanding of the Job, How one gets along with others, and so on and so on.  In my opinion and with these tenants being employed by RLC, there is no way they just throw them in a dwelling and say have it, do what you want to do.  That would never work and RLC would sink faster than you can say Titanic!!

The "visitations"....do I think there is way to many apartment to apartment visits within RLC, the answer is yes.  The visitations should be limited to once or twice a year to not make it look like a bunch of coworkers going from office to office for coffee and donuts/chit chat.  To me this takes all the realism out of RLC.  If they truly want it to be more realistic, you would see a lot of people that you don't normally see because in the real world people go out, they meet new friends and in time those new friends are who you should be seeing and not your coworker Nana in the next cubicle!

The "lingerie"....do I think that every time there is a get together of the girls in whatever apartment/villa and them immediately changing into or stripping down to lingerie or some sort of costume a joke, the answer would be yes.  The same goes for when the girls get home from doing whatever they have been doing while outside and coming in and immediately stripping down to darn near nothing.  It doesn't work like that in the real world and especially when you share a place with mixed company.  They should be dressed in comfy shorts and t-shirts and not lingerie.  Once again, it takes all the realism out of the equation.

I would say something about all the UM (Under Maintenance) but there is probably nobody that doesn't know how I feel about it unless they are brand new to the forum and for those people, I will simply say that I always hated it as a subscriber and I still do every time I read about now as a nonsubscriber.  I think they abuse the use of the UM every time an apartment goes into it.

Lastly and perhaps one of the biggest problems with RLC is the lack of respect they show to their customers.  The only business in the world that could sustain themselves showing that much disrespect is a "Real Life" porn site!!

These are a few things where I think RLC fails miserably, there are plenty more but to me these are some of the biggest when it comes to portraying themselves as a real life voyeur site.
