Depending on the size of  the battery.  Most UPS's are only meant to keep the equipment shutting down promptly as an outage can cause damage to the system.  My guess is RLC has a gas powered generator of some type that runs when an outages occur then they may have an a couple of hours before it completely dies.

I have a UPS on my equipment for my PC, Monitor, Modem and Router and if an outage lasts longer than 5 minutes my system goes completely dead.
