Most UPS's are only meant to keep the equipment shutting down promptly as an outage can cause damage to the system. My guess is RLC has a gas powered generator of some type that runs when an outages occur then they may have an a couple of hours before it completely dies. I have a UPS on my equipment for my PC, Monitor, Modem and Router and if an outage lasts longer than 5 minutes my system goes completely dead.
