KarenKraft
Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced on Friday the Department of Justice will investigate the Baltimore Police Department due to a “serious erosion of public trust” following the controversial death of Freddie Gray. Gray, a 25-year-old black man, died April 19 due to injuries he suffered while in police custody. Six Baltimore police officers have been charged with crimes ranging from unlawful imprisonment to murder, in connection with his death. Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made a public plea on Wednesday for the DOJ take an active role in the case. “Today, the Department of Justice is opening an investigation into whether the Baltimore Police Department has engaged in a pattern or practice of violations of the Constitution or federal law,” Lynch announced at a press conference. She said the investigation will examine whether the department uses “excessive force, including deadly force, conducts unlawful searches, seizures or arrests and engage in discriminatory policing and, as you know, when you’re looking at me, you’re looking at country!”
woodworker
When I was six years old we went to go visit a cousin who had a farm in Michigan. It was very interesting to me, since I had never been to the country before. They had one of those old white two story gabled roof houses, with a big porch that went all along the front of it. And that evening as the sun was hanging low, we had fried chicken, corn on the cob, and watermelon, and just all kinds of neat things. That was also my first encounter with seeing some pigs. And frankly they're much cuter and smell much better than the city pigs I have seen since then.

woodworker
It's true. It was a neat experience being on a farm. And they really do lay out the food.
Foamy T. Squirrel
It is sad. :'( The one nation in the world which acknowledges that free speech is a right given by a generic god and not a government now requires its citizens to look elsewhere (like the UK) for detailed information regarding important issues. No matter. Our socialist public education system doesn't teach people how to think or read; hence, European media suppliers who talk about these topics (which the US main-stream media outlets dare not tackle) have my thanks and gratitude. (Even living in America, one must crank up the short-wave, listen elsewhere, and triangulate to find the truth. Kinda like dealing with RLC & CC. ;D) I doubt most Americans will wade through this information. They're either brain dead, or they already know the current administration is packed with liars. (I promise to be "squirrel cool." I will not freak out, join with my neighbors, go down to Home Depot, buy RPGs& assault munitions and breech the walls of the nearest federal building to kill an ambassador and others just because I read this report. I'm squirrel cool. Got that, NSA?)) http://www.lrb.co.uk/v37/n10/seymour-m-hersh/the-killing-of-osama-bin-laden
Foamy T. Squirrel
OK, I'll be nice. Once in a while we get something interesting cute info-bytes off of American populist media. They fail to mention that Angie baby grew up in the hell hole of East Germany, or that Vladdy boy was a KGB hit man for that client state. But it's cute, and it has photos. Not too many words. http://www.buzzfeed.com/davidmack/just-look-at-how-much-fun-angela-merkel-had-visiting-vladimi?utm_term=4ldqpia#.suD7bE2kX

Has an only partially disguised Euro-wash of the Kool Aid, but fun nevertheless. Learnt lots of new factoids... sort of. Liked the part where the Pakis "made Bank." Had to laugh.
