    Mary and George had what's called dreadlocks, which is, IMHO, and no offense to anyone who has them, one of, if not the worst looking hairstyle ever invented. This is an example. If I remember correctly, Foxy had what's called African braids or cornrows. Is this what you were thinking about?

    It's a reference to an old TV show called Kung Fu. It starred David Carradine. He grew up in a Shaolin Monastery and trained to be a Shaolin monk. He was taught by the master of the temple in the art of Kung Fu. At some point, the master started calling him Grasshopper as a way to indicate that he was not yet a full-fledged monk. Or, something like that.
