  1. English, Snaky and others have raised a few good questions. I am not affiliated with RLC or CC, other than to mod CC and set a few standards to protect CC from trolls. Therefore, with my limited knowledge, I will attempt to answer these questions to the best of my squirrel-like ability. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, RLC does not ban stuff that was directly posted to the attachment center, and they don't use us as a "honey-pot." TO MY KNOWLEDGE, we have no way of knowing if an RLC operative is among us. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, if you make a post and do not remove the left-hand code or the Braille "hidden watermark" to anywhere on CC, and another person downloads it and re-uploads it to Motherless, UL, any pay-per-click website, your code will be observed and RLC will ban you. KILL the code in your posts. Whatever it takes. Warping, cropping, Photoshop, GIMP, whatever. For the historical perspective on our vexations, check out this old rag-tag thread: http://camcaps.net/random-discussion/rlc-is-getting-serious-about-violating-their-terms-conditions/msg56664/#msg56664 ----- Secondly, yes, we now have two Admins. I don't know who the top Admin is, but he seems to be a decent fellow, and quite a good entrepreneur who has succeeded where most people would have predicted failure. I actually trust TBG to be real, someone I would slam down a few drinks with because he's not pretentious, speaks his mind, and he has knowledge of forum software.
  2. I really must pay more attention to this thread. There are some brilliant and interesting observations posted by members here. That woman displayed on screen as "Leora" is definitely complex, and I also believe that off of RLC she is just as pretty and complex. Keep it rolling.
  3. It's old, but on topic. Mark up our Brit friends 10 points for excellence in uncomfortable humor...
  4. It's not really wisdom. I've acted on stage in the past (no nudity, I assure you) and had fun with the audience, and I've written scripts alone in a locked room, with no need of an audience. Actors and musicians love attention and feedback; so do many women. I won't try to explain Leora's psychological make-up here, but I've also studied physics and certainly the act of observation of a quantum particle does affect its interaction. I simply think she's a good young woman, who is pretty and artistically talented, and I think Paul is her man, and he's earned that with her. In real life, they're probably really nice people. And, I think she's really pretty. How 'about you? ??? I think you find her pretty, too. She's actually well liked on this board by most of the members, and some of them damn near worship her.8) And I know who they are. ;)
  5. Having a camera on you 24/7 will affect your behavior. After a while, you will play to it, and you will want to see what the response is. In the case of RLC tenants, it would be absurd to think that they are not here. Performing for a fan club makes an exhibitionist gain a sense of satisfaction and control over others, just like being invisible and secretly watching someone else gives a voyeur a sense of power.
  6. I've been a mod longer and even I don't know what's going on with this couple or thread. Evidently, something actually happened at this apartment. I am shocked :o Thanks to our esteemed and honorable posters for bringing this to our attention!
  7. RLC is simply playing with their marketing approach. They do some change-ups from time-to-time; they check their metrics; totally normal for a business.
  8. My uncle was on every island hop in the Pacific Theater. My father was at Inchon and Chosin. They never spoke to us about it, except a few years before their deaths. They only spoke to each other when they were drinking, and then, they only told the funny stories. They maybe didn't know it, but us little boys listened intently. I inherited the letters that my grandmother received from my father. There were plenty of letters; the young man was a prolific writer. Not much from Chosin made it through, but everything else was about two letters a day, depending upon the availability of government sulfate paper, rice paper, and napkins. Some had been unread, as if Grandma didn't want to face what her son was going through. I'm lucky as hell he did he made it out of Chosin. Very lucky. I've read all the letters. I now understand my father more than I did when he was alive.
  9. RLC is now randomizing the apartments when you log in from the address bar. If you click on Mozillas "new tab" default, and you click on a previously visited RLC icon, you'll end up there again. At least, that is my experience. It makes sense to randomize the first apartment displayed. By always using Leora's apartment by default, RLC's marketing research data would be skewed in favor of Apt. 1. As for me, if Leora's flaunting herself when I first click on RLC, I'm sure as hell not going to visit any of the other apartments. ;D :-*
  10. I don't think you'll have any problems from mods if you post this un-resized in full resolution. Especially from me. The woman is a classic Greek goddess, and some of us are equally intrigued by her mysterious mind as we are seduced by her body. She defies international borders. She speaks in the primal universal language.
  11. You turned that around nicely, StnCld. 8)
  12. Did this turn into a literature discussion hour, or what? Can we know who they really are? That's Phillip K. Dick. Not Stephen King. Can we know what really is going on here? That's Heisenberg and Erwin Schrödinger. And a bunch of philosophers before them. What's under the desk? That's for Military Intelligence, and available on a need-to-know basis only. And Leora's beauty ? Well, maybe that's just the literature in a glamour magazine, or a testament about the glory of god's creation. There are humans who could sculpture her as well, like Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni. Our reaction as CC observers? That's Vonnegut and Matt Groening, with a bit of R.Crumb thrown in. The relationship between L&P doesn't matter, it's been going on this way since they got here, and she is a pretty and talented woman, he is not a jackass, and that goofy relationship between them will be going on even longer. She hangs with Paul, not Camcaps idolaters. I think they actually love each other. It's a stretch to say so, but I think I might have that supposition right.
  13. Nicely spoken. Realistically pragmatic. Smack dab. Right on the money. Dead on.
  14. It is time consuming to discern a dupe from an operative, and a sincere pacifist from an enemy within the gate. Leaders like Hitler and Stalin didn't much bother with such a laborious or thoughtful procedure. Mass extermination is much more convenient.
  15. Flaming is no longer tolerated in Old Dudes. Maturin's bitching was irrelevant to Current Events in the News. His most vociferous posts have been removed.
  16. More good press for us squirrels. Finally you humans are starting to realize how talented and powerful we are! So fear the wrath! (And that goes for you, too, Snaky! Here you'll see impressive evidence of our growing power!) http://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/squirrels-americas-tiny-menace/?ftag=ACQ812ebde
  17. She's training for a position in law enforcement, at least, that has been the scuttlebutt around CC for several months. I haven't seen her hanging around with baton and handcuffs yet, but that might be just the thing needed to spice up her and Paul's sex life.
  18. "Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." — Hermann Goering
  19. People like dependable, consistent performance in their operating systems. MicroSoft always provides that; they never seemed to waiver, although Win95 and Win7 were fairly buggy about providing the expected consistent MicroSoft behavior and the accustomed MicroSoft user experience. Let's see if Win10 can outdo the success they had with Vista! ;D Myself, I'm waiting out Win10 as long as I can. Hey TBG, yes we need a sarcasm emoticon on this board.
  20. I've only used IE a couple times, and that was to download Firefox on a fresh Windows install. And I'm sticking with Win7 until I figure out Win10's surveillance and data harvesting problem. Something looks a bit totalitarian about it for my tastes.
  21. I had this same problem for a while after an Ubuntu upgrade, but only with Chrome. I couldn't even get the font icons. It worked fine on Firefox, however, so I used that for posting comments. You might try various browsers and see if they behave differently. I expect that there will be plenty of glitches with Edge, especially since MicroSoft has not been known for designing decent browsers.
  22. I see my statements have been taken out of context. It is a popular belief that the US is the reason for all the violence in the world. Actually, most Americans would rather not be world police. There is the fact that Russia, who was cleverly neutral in the WWII Pacific Theater, suffered great losses taking Berlin and nearly all of Eastern Europe. If you want, you can say that Russia won the war. Still, I think, if those "violent" Americans had sat that war out in the comfort of their homes, then I would not be having such discussions with my Western European friends, and the Iron Curtain would have enclosed the whole of Europe. My point was that much of the problems in the world derive not from my previously happy continent, but from Europe itself. We Americans got stuck with cleaning up the previous wars, it has cost us our earnings, and I would be happy to see the British Royal Navy protecting the world's shipping lanes again. Let's note that when the UK was top dog, everybody in the world bitched about them, too. The US had a monopoly on the atomic bomb, and did not use it once it ended the war with Imperial Japan. Had things been different, and Stalin or Hitler had this weapon, you can bet they would have not hesitated to use it, and none of us would be discussing anything on the Internet at all.
  23. I am referring to World War I and World War II. The Middle East situation was sparked by the death of the "Old Man of Europe," followed by the damage caused to the British Empire and French Empires by World War One. It was later compounded when the US and the Soviet Union dashed in to clean up the mess left by the death of European Imperialism during World War II, which led to the numerous proxy wars that followed. Suffice to say, the world was better off with Pax Romana, Pax Britannica, and Pax Americana, that it would have been without them. Trade and technology improved during these periods, international commerce shipping was safer, and life spans increased. As the chart shows, there has been huge decline in deaths from war, going from 300 people per 100,000, to 1 person per 100,000. I suspect that will change abruptly as the US continues to decline, and I don't wish to be involved.
