  1. By the time the US and Royal Marines left Chosin, the entire Chinese 5th Army was obliterated. Thank you, KamkazeV2, for reminding me that I need to get back to job-shopping my new idea for a TV game show to Hollywood. It's called, "Trolling for Dollars." 4chan/b has already promised to sponsor it. Would you be interested in staring in the first episode? ;D
  2. I don't understand Efim & Diana's relationship either, but then again, I'm old school.
  3. Well done, StnCld316. Reminds me of the old days at CC. Would you prefer a healthy dose of positive karma or negative karma with that? I will gladly provide! :D
  4. Hey, bigbear: ;D
  5. I'm Don Rumsfeld on the issue. By this I simply mean -- as regards this couple in particular -- that: There are things that are known. There are things we know are unknown. And there are unknown things that we don't know that are unknown. Paul and Leora are probably some of the most complex individuals with the most complex relationship that have appeared on RLC. I gave up quite some time ago. It is good enough for me to observe, but speculation about them is futile. Paul is no dummy and she's a beauty. That's enough, because RLC doesn't pay me to turn my mind into a pretzel. I can't even remember what Paul's real name is: this is how much I'm willing to delve into their mysteries. In other words, little squirrel can't help you on this any more than any other CC posters (except for Leora and Paul themselves.)
  6. A few minor corrections to the discussion regarding the current POTUS. 1) He is not the first African-American president. He's the first president of European-African genetic heritage. Some would say he's a Halfrican-American president, but race is irrelevant and over-hyped in this country, anyway. Anybody who voted for a candidate because of their color is a flaming idiot. 2) He is, however, the first full-blown Marxist president. That's the part that troubles me. And anybody who voted for candidate because of his or hers totalitarian ideology is dangerously deranged.
  7. I'm with Woody on this. It's high time you kiss and make-up, even if velvet hand-cuffs are involved. We're all internet buddies here; you agree on far too much, and you are provocative and interesting posters.
  8. "Sylvester" it is. Finally, we are back to naming the animals. This is a good thing for CC; instead of calling each other names, maybe we can get back to the real work of observing RLC. Meerkat would have wanted it this way, may the lord's blessing be upon him.
  9. Oddly, today, the man who "ended the war on terror" has decided to become a "war president," now that he's let the former Al Qaeda regroup and form a more powerful militant force that is on the verge of becoming a new caliphate.
  10. Do unto others as they would do unto you. Only make sure you fire first.
  11. Nice job, gentlemen. Well done. Such fine work merits the acclaim of all CC members.
  12. OK, back to something civilized, something relaxing, but yet amazingly refreshing to the human nervous system. It's called Jazz, and I suggest a crystal snifter of fine cognac, Peruvian flake, a hillside view of distant city lights punctuating a night sky and a great stereo system. With your love by your side.
  13. I don't know who he was, but he looks like a chile pepper to me. :(
  14. Woody never ceases to amaze me. Anybody can learn to write; but to be a story teller is an art. Thanks, bro.
  15. Anybody who doesn't like to see little kids dressed up in costumes on Halloween, or doesn't like things that fly through the air or explode, should be shunned as a center of pestilence. That is the conclusion to which I have come.
  16. ...that we just went past VE Day? That was on every calendar that I ever saw growing up, along with VJ Day. So were the particular birthdays of several major American presidents. But that was in a distant universe a long time ago. And guess what? They didn't change the holiday to land on a Friday or Monday way back then. They considered the day almost sacred. If the US government pulls that bullshit on our Independence Day, and it doesn't land on the 4th of July, all hell will break loose here. And little squirrel will be with the frustrated pissed-off mob that recaptures Washington, DC. (I'll be the little guy with the furry tail in the corner of the photograph.) Some events are important, and should not be forgotten or turned into three-day weekends.
  17. Personally, little Squirrel would wish that you'd all calm down a bit. We need differing points of view here. I'm not opposed to Kal, Ozi, Woody, or KK expressing their different views. But none of us should take this forum, or ourselves, too seriously. And certainly not vindictively. That said, I'll take a breather myself. Maybe I'll see what's cranking at the Juke Box... http://angryalien.com/1005/wowbuns.asp
  18. These posts are SATIRE. We use satire as a tool. It is a form of humor, and a very subtly articulate one. We, especially of the Tea Party, would like to be left alone. However, every time we Americans become isolationist, we get drawn into the problems created by Europeans and Asians. Americans did not start WWI, WWII, or the Korean War. Even the Vietnam war started out as a helping hand to the dying French colony. Yeah, we did kick some ass on Spain, but it was probably just a slight misunderstanding about a steamer explosion. And we are responsible for the American Civil War. No doubt about that one. We don't like war. We like commerce. So when Putin and the Caliphate come knocking on your door again, don't expect me to show huge amounts of enthusiasm. So here's another piece of frustrated satire. Just remember, individuals get along quite well in the world: it's governments that start wars.
  19. Then it's true -- the consensus among experts is that Pirates have caused global warming. And to think, all this time, I thought Manbearpig was just a lone terrorist...
  20. Facts are not useful tools to those participating in Alinsky's philosophy. In fact, facts are the enemy.
  21. Fortunately for me, the public school indoctrination and the Hollywood story didn't take with me. But then, I was raised by WWI, WWII, and Korean War vets. They always showed respect for our allies.
  22. The Old Dudes Board was specifically created to discuss politics, music, culture, religion, wine, and to share stories and anything else off-topic for the main RLC boards. The idea was to reduce the clutter over there and get away from all the jacking-off teeners. This is a perfectly good place to argue politics. Go for it. I, too, am accustomed to watching train wrecks and beat-downs...
  23. I was referring to the peanut gallery in general; not to you sir. As for the "beat-down" ceremonies, I'm enjoying every minute of it. Please refer to my rant on the previous page. Everybody knows whose side I'm on. Just don't chase him away. Like a cat toying with a mouse, it's just too much fun watching a heated debate on CC cuz absolutely nothing else is happening of interest lately around here, except maybe some tunes at the Juke Box.
  24. Yes, Karen, you did indeed give away the punchline. Black humor works this way. And it only works because there's so damn much truth in it.
