  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe theirs is the last remaining of the original RLC apartments. It's been through so many tenants and lasted so long it's damn near an historical point-of-interest. Maybe RLC should put a plaque in front of the property...
  2. Yes, agree, especially since no one will know until after the event. By then it becomes worthy of historical studies -- we call it "Monday morning quarterbacking" where I live. I think it would have been more helpful to quarantine the sick, the elderly, and those that have health problems, and keep them away from the healthy working young people. I know more people who are financially ruined and/or have serious unattended medical problems because of the shut down, than I do people who have contracted the virus. I'm in that first group on both accounts, incidentally, so I'm not talking selfishly. The collateral damage is already enormous. Worry not, however, I'm not in the growing suicide group. I prefer to "Always look on the bright side of life." (Eric Idle reference, here.) I agree the solutions are complex, but I have yet to see an "expert" who knows what they hell they're talking about, and I have yet to see a politician who is not taking political advantage of the situation. Hell, Pelosi even got millions for gender studies in Pakistan into her goddamn Covid bill. Nothing like giving every citizen a $600 paycheck that ultimately will cost those same individual citizens hundreds of thousands of dollars each to pay for. This situation certainly isn't any better anywhere else in the world, either. Except maybe China. Thankfully, Orange Man delivered and the vaccine appears to be the best solution for help the natural herd immunity along its inevitable path.
  3. I study history, and what's scary is that I completely agree with this guy: https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/12/26/german-economist-great-reset-will-cause-a-crash-worse-than-1930s/
  4. Bogdan has been around for a very long time. Some guys respect him for how he deals with situations, some guys don't. Women CC members have always been in love with him. Nelly and Bogdan had a good relationship, and I hope RLC has not destroyed that. They were decent people. They were real. Hopefully 2021 will be better for all the couples, and for us.
  5. Trust me, many of us are shitheads. Or we wouldn't be here. We'd be at 4chan. But we are in recovery...😁
  6. Little do they know the power of squirreldom 😈... (Did they check under the sofa cushions?)
  7. I'm gonna start posting Sonny & Cher songs if this thread doesn't improve. Hell, even the Millennials I know are getting into the taste of a good wine, single malt or other fine liquors. What do we have here at CC? Junior high jack-offs in their mother's cellar or what? Old Dudes should be busier that this. Maybe we should add a topic about our aging medical situations. That seems to be a hit with the old set.
  8. Funding gender studies in fucking Pakistan is soooooooooooooo fucking important to liberals. I think it's so damn important that they should fund it themselves. People who support such crap are guilty of treason. U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time USDEBTCLOCK.ORG
  9. Fear not Israel, the UAE, Morocco, the United States, UK, Central and Western Europe, Taiwan, and kangaroos and polar bears: a savior has arisen the likes of which no Chinese, Nazi, or Russian propagandist would be more proud: Oh, and did I forget to mention that the sea levels will go down again?
  10. We all know that their real names are Sylvia and Manfred, but we're not allowed to say that according to the CC rules. As usual, I will ban myself tomorrow for saying so. I promise. As for what is going on in their heads, we should speculate all we want. If we guess enough, someone will come up with something entertaining or maybe even mildly realistic. Until then, well, Leora is still important around here...
  11. I seriously doubt the United States will be a constitutional republic much longer. Governments who lack money in their treasury seem to have die out quickly in the past.
  12. China owns the US now. Face the fact. Look at our media. Game over.
  13. I honestly enjoy both your and letsdothis's posts and ideas. Keep up the good work.
  14. I was talking about the Black Death. Many more people died in Africa and Eurasia, but the Europeans kept records and all of them were rather depressing. We were talking about hundreds of millions of death for that time period in the mid 1300's. Now, it's a bit different ball game, but some of the rules still hold true. Then again, there's always https://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/20TH.HTM Disease, famine, war, and misery are part of the human condition. And life that brings death is a pre-existing condition from the moment we are born. Blessed are those of us who die in our sleep without pain.
  15. CC's still free expression, so far. Unless you're a troll. Speak freely, but after January you should use 7 proxies. (That's a concept. It's a joke, kid.) https://www.positivethoughtsquote.com/2020/07/foghorn-leghorn-quotes.html Pay attention to the second quote... though others are words of wisdom....
  16. I always like the view point of other countries' media. It usually relates to their situation, as opposed to the constant Communist indoctrination that our mainstream media presents. It's always a bit different, so you can triangulate how we're going to be enslaved by mass media.
  17. People complain about reality here because they have obviously been lied to by the general media. There is no free speech here unless one is willing to get doxed, or beaten by antifa in the street. There is a serious attack on freedom of speech here. It is the only country that ever regarded it as an ultimate right of individuals to speak freely on issues concerning their government. If they lose their right of religion or the right to bear arms, it's pretty much game over for human liberty. I'd like to go wine tasting, but I don't know where our Governor's winery is located. His favorite restaurant seems to have gotten millions of dollars while my local cafe's have disappeared. Let me know how the next goddamn lock-down is going to improve anything.
  18. If one studies the history of plagues -- especially like the ones that killed one-third of the population, you will learn that the "experts" are ignorant, the religious leaders are either helping console the populace or make gains from it, and the political leaders are exploiting it. So I'm walking along the forest stream with my other wilderness creatures, looking for the Goddess, and my cousin Rocky asked me: "How would you conquer an enemy country? Especially if it had nukes?" I merely answered, "I'd subvert their politicians, make their elections vulnerable to exploitation, and just drop a little thing that would destroy their economy and their supply lines." Rocky hasn't spoken to me since.
  19. I would like to congratulate Xi Jinping on his victory over the Federal Democratic-Republic of the United State of America. Of course, he didn't do this alone. It took a lot of team work to install Biden. Installing Harris is easy; it's pretty much already accomplished. My only regret is that there's nothing funny about Harris, whereas Biden's been a hoot... 😄
  20. I have a past habit of falling in love with women who make really good home-made chocolate chip cookies. It's a quid pro quo I suppose. Or maybe a dangerous psychological desire for self-destruction.
  21. I abused bourbon in junior high, along with some cherry-flavored brandy. I haven't been able to enjoy them since. So I'm pretty much stuck with Scotch or Irish whiskey, wine, and cognac with a good crystal snifter. Real rum is quite nice on a winter's day... I don't golf, but if I sold life insurance or was a politician, I'd be on the green every fricken' day doing deals. Then maybe I could afford the decent bourbon and enjoy it more. And perhaps I would know more things...
  22. Dude -- you're supposed to be delivering pizza's in Prague. It's winter there. Make sure you wear your Koala Cam. We placental woodland creatures would love to see you feed her your pepperoni. And no more complaints. Squirrels don't even work up a sweat until it hits 44C here.
  23. Unlike the two people involved with the reaction, I do not own an EpiPen. I don't need one. However, if you are an anti-vaxer and are afraid of this virus that Trump created (supposedly) and this vaccine that Trump created to kill us, I suggest you don't get the goddamn shot. And stay under house-arrest. Thank you. And the girl in the lower photograph should seriously consider not eating burritos from a drive-through...
  24. We lost one of my favorite members to tinnitus. He was the best story teller we ever had on this board. But his problem was so bad that it got to where he could not concentrate well enough to use a computer. So he doesn't log in anymore. Don't let yours get to that level. Fuck the worries about "You might get Covid" and demand in-person help from your HMO or whatever.
