The bathtub in this apt has the same problem. The bottles on the near end of the tub, look more in focus than the people in the tub. Are they just not HD quality cameras, or is there another problem? The camera focuses first on what's brightest, the reflections off the metal door handle. I also agree, when they're closer to the camera, the focus is a bit better. Not great. It should be a lot better than what it is. And the focus in the tub behind her is terrible. I don't think these are very high quality cameras.
