Did you know that with all the BBC ans of products and all the other crap, the hole in the ozone is still where its always been.

Ozone deplition:

Unfortunately, it hasn't disappeared yet. The global effort to prevent ozone depleting chemicals shows first results. The hole in the ozone layer is recovering.

For the first time, direct observations of the Antarctic ozone hole show evidence of recovery due to the 1987 Montreal Protocol's ban on a class of...

The interesting thing is that this example shows very well that with the right action a catastrophe can be prevented.

Acid rain:

Something similar applies to the acid rain, by the way. Here, too, Changes in the actions of the people have led to a reduction in chemical emissions and thus greatly reduces the effect. One example of this is catalytic converters in passenger cars or corresponding requirements for industry. These measures reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides, which is one of the main causes of acid rain.

It is a pity that this did not happen worldwide. For example, in large parts of Russia and China there is still the problem of acid rain.

Causes, effects and solutions of acid rain: Acid rain refers to a mixture of deposited material, both wet and dry, coming from the atmosphere...

Ultimately, even if not implemented globally, another good example of how the right behaviour can prevent problems.

Global warming and Climate Change

These two topics ultimately describe the same problem. Again, with the right behavior, we can greatly reduce the effect. Now it's time to act right and not to pretend as if there is no issue at all.

14,000 Abandoned Wind Turbines Litter the United States

California had the “big three” of wind farm locations — Altamont Pass, Tehachapi, and San Gorgonio, considered the world’s best wind sites. California’s wind farms, almost 80% of the world’s wind generation capacity ceased to generate even more quickly than Kamaoa Wind Farm in Hawaii. There are five other abandoned wind farms in Hawaii. When they are abandoned, getting the turbines removed is a major problem. They are highly unsightly, and they are huge, and that’s a lot of material to get rid of. President Obama’s offshore wind farms will be far more expensive than those sited in California’s ideal wind locations. Salt water is far more damaging than sun and rain, and offshore turbines don’t last as long. But nice tax scams for his crony-capitalist backers will work well as long as he can blame it all on saving the planet.

The whole thing is about as if a look at a car scrap yard would show that the automotive industry doesn't work. The truth is, the technology has simply evolved extremely:

Energy: Turbines going up in San Gorgonio Pass are much larger than earlier models. Their emergence renews criticism of the machines.

SKEPTICS.STACKEXCHANGE.COM

A number of blogs and sites seem to repeat a claim 14,000 ABANDONED WIND TURBINES LITTER THE UNITED STATES, and in particular: The...

Hi Alladino, it says we took the right action in the 80's to avoid a catastrophe from the ozone hole. What catastrophe were they predicting?

I listened to it all and other than we need the ozone layer to protect us from radiation from the sun, it didn't specifically say what the hole over the Antarctic would do to us. I read the following article and apparently whatever we did in the 80's didn't work. The hole was the biggest in 2006 since they've been measuring it, and 4th largest in 2015. I realize it takes many years for cfc's to work their way out of the atmosphere,  but how 30 years later are we having the 4th largest hole in 2015.

EARTHOBSERVATORY.NASA.GOV

The ozone hole over Antarctica grew relatively large and deep in 2015.

In worst case (completely without ozone layer) the earth would be hell.

Without the Ozone layer we would literally be cooked alive by the radiation given off by the sun.

It's one of those 'Gotta have it', things.

Yeah, this sums it up pretty well.

Climate Hoo Haa!     After I am Dead and Gone I don't give a fuck what happens in the World.   I have Paid my Dues to Society and the Leaches still want to Siphon more.

Well, you're not alone. There's a lot of people who think the way you do.

I think however the whole thing should work a little different. Maybe, the world is like a hotelroom. You can have a very good time there, but to burn down the entire hotel is simply not included. As much fun as this could possibly be.  😉

There is an Old saying  'You Play with Mother Nature You're Bound to get Burned."

They should just let the World go through it's process and let matters be.  This World has been through it before and they'll go through it again. You can Siphon all the Billions and Bleed the Taxpayer Dry and it won't make one bit of difference in Peoples Lives except the Poorer will get Poorer and the Rich just keep getting Richer thanks to our Blood-Sucking Politicians..You have better Odds at being hit by Lightning than you have to worry about Burning Up in a Fireball. But these Politicians aren't up to snuff with the Program. If such an event is going to take place it won't happen for another 200 Years everyone alive today will be Dead and Gone so why worry about it.    Let the Next Generation Foot the Bill and Pay their Dues.

That's another problem. Here it only helps to vote for people like sanders who are real idealists. They would then have to increase the taxes for rich and reduce those of the normal people (strongly simplified).

However, climate change must be prevented (greatly reduced) in any case, as nothing really remains otherwise. It's still manageable. We should understand it as a challenge and not declare it impossible (or even as a lie as written above by someone else).
