Pepe Posted January 7, 2021 Share Posted January 7, 2021 I would think since there are some stores like grocery store who can remain open during curfew and can only sell essential items. Curfew is just basically when you get down to it trying to limit people being in large gatherings. Curfews for the virus to me seems silly. It' not the virus is more or less active during certain hours. It just doesn't make sense to let people be a little more relaxed during the day, but at night we shut it all down. I work in a factory that has 2000 plus in my building. We have not had 1 case of covid contracted at work. I believe the reason curfews are put in place at night is that during the day although people are allowed out as long as they act responsibly and wear masks, then that is deemed OK...But at night time people want to go out and socialise and that is where in the UK the problems have arisen....Many of the younger generation are partying as they see fit as they don't seem to think it affects them, but they then go home to parents and grandparents and pass it on....No matter what, people rebel against authority and don't like their freedom curtailed, but if a death affects one of their family members it might help concentrate their minds a little.
