Again comments from an observer outside of the U.S. The more I read news about what is going on in the U.S. and the more I read the posts here (why do we even have these political debates on a voyeur site?!), the more I think that the American society urgently needs many radical reforms in the near future. Tax reform, healthcare reform, political reform and so on. You cannot continue forever with that Republicans against Democrats (which many of you call Socialist Liberals!) position. You need four/five strong political parties that form a majority government in which the parties in power cooperate on a wider basis than today. Such governments are led by a prime minister, no more by an incompetent president who is elected in the strange way you have now. Such a government could and should reconstitute the trust and respect that the outside world used to have but has now lost. That would require rejection of the "America alone" politics and hard, constructive work in supporting international cooperation and conventions, starting from a new positive attitude towards the United Nations and its suborganizations. Of course I know that this post does not lead anywhere, except that some of you right-wing extremists will once again call me a socialist liberal - which would be an awkward definition in the political climate where I live. As Leora has gone out, I just had sóme time to spare, and started entertaining myself by reading the posts here - I already know what opinions are expected from each of you.

I don't ever think President Trump will make it through the first Four Years. Trump won't Resign on his own accord because he's to stubborn so he'll likely be Impeached or Assassinated and Mike Pence will take over the Role of POTUS.

Well I'm finally going to get in on this.

"More taxes on Big Corporations."  Who owns the "Big Corporations?" The stockholders.  Who are some of the major stockholders?  Pension funds.  Think about it.

"Make the rich pay their fair share."  First define "rich".  Put a dollar amount on it.  Also consider that you never got a job from a poor man unless you work for the government.

"Trump didn't get ACA repealed."  Actually CONGRESS didn't repeal ACA.  They never really believed they were going to have to vote to repeal it so they were all supportive of repeal.

"Trump supporters got what they deserved."  Actually Trump has fulfilled his greatest success:  he kept Hillary from winning.

"ACA is succeeding."  Succeeding at what?  Businesses have either passed more costs on to their employees or dropped health care altogether.  People, believe it or not the main concern of a business is to make money for its owner.  Not to provide jobs.  Employing people is to help accomplish the main concern.  Actually ACA is going to implode which may be what the democrats wanted all along so they could ultimately have a single payor(?) system.  If you think this is good, take a look at the VA.

I have just one more observation and then I'm going to crawl back under my rock.  I think this country has been on decline since we abandoned our lunar program for space stations.  I think China will shortly have people on the moon and India will too if so inclined.  How's that make you feel?  We can't even get our people on the space station without asking the Russians to PLEASE take us up there.

One more thing.  I find Trump's picture with turds coming out of his mouth extremely offensive.  Have we really fallen that far?

You and Thesta must read the same online websites and watch the same Fox News/Fake news channel,,,You basically just repeated almost word for word that both he and Foamy have said already,,, If the ACA is so bad for business and us Americans well just let it implode in on itself then,,So that you guys can say "we told you so". I have always heard these doom and gloom stuff from Republicans trying to scare people into thinking that Grandma is going to get put in a death Panel,,,the last time I checked..grandma is still here. Let me get my two cents in here.

While I'm retired now, toward the end of my career I ran a company employing 250 people.  I made sure that our employees had adequate health insurance  ---- not because the law required me to but because it was the right thing to do.  In fact, I had the same insurance.

I live in a suburb of New York City although I was raised in the city.  When I decided to buy a NYC apartment for convenience and entertainment, real estate brokers were given clear instructions to not bother showing me Trump apartments.  Why?  Because most real New Yorkers like me knew that he was a fraud who grossly overpriced what he was selling.  Sure, he sold to some locals, but I guess they felt they could maintain the myth when they sold to the next sucker.

I haven't had to disown many friends, (I don't really, I just ignore them.)  Most people I know are educated, successful citizens who can recognize a totally incompetent leader when they see one.  It's not a close call.  I'm just amazed at how Trump supporters have to twist common sense to justify their support.
