Read my reasoning. She might have been admitted during or after the UM yesterday, Nicole was gone a long time. she maybe was admitted to hospital, some rutine tests might have been done then. In the evening there would not be much to do, because the only interesting test in such a case would be to monitor EEG during sleep, so she was allowed to return home in the evening to pack an overnight backpack. Sofie might have followed Nicole to wherever she was staying, to keep her company for some hours this saturday night.

The weak part of this theory is that Nicole was allowed to follow Sofie on the way home, before returning to wherever she was staying. So that speak against it.

In my country hospitals are not 24 hours motel. Even if you have been admited at a normal hours, you will not return to the hospital at  2:30 am. The night hospitals are "closed". There are only a few nurses and doctors and  security gards if necessary. I don't know spanish habits though. If a specialist need to check your health while you are sleeping, you will not tell him :

"Sorry doc ! i never get to bed before 3 am so you got to ajdust your time to my time. See ya at  3am doc and don't be late !  My fan are waitin' for me ! " 

When Nicole came back this morning she talked very few to Sofie and Sofie kept a large smile , not as Sofie was worry about her friend coming back from a night at the hospital, but more as her coming back from a night with "someone"

I doubt it too, but is very possible! This is Europe, I've been admitted to hospital a few times, to monitor my breathing during sleep. I was admitted at noon, took some tests, then I was allowed to leave the hospital untill bedtime (22-23)

that 's a big difference with Nicole who is supposed to enter the hospital at  2:30 am
