Me correcting Rob's spelling and typing errors has been a running joke for months now. I wouldn't try to correct anyone for real unless of course they said something like"The Battle of Hastings took place in 1067"😀

Hi Naga,Do you know why Friday was classed as Fish night?.When I was young(a long time ago)Roman Catholics abstained from eating meat for one day per week and Friday was it and back then it was strictly adhered to,nowadays not so much I don't think. I hope you and yours have a great Christmas🎅

I have to admit that an English in the country/village pub is hard to beat for quality food and ambience. One of the best English pubs I have been in though not in the countryside is Spice Island in Portsmouth,good food and a brilliant view,followed by a visit to the "Mary Rose experience and a stroll round the harbour.Superb!!!. But just to lower the tone a bit Many's a good night has been had in the pubs in Soho after an England-Scotland game at Wembley.Picture the strippers doing a Calamity Jane act accompanied by a team of pissed as arseholes kilted Scots.Great fun and not one bit of trouble.Anyway I've bored you enough.

Wow!! It would need to be really good at that price.Fish and Chips at my local costs roughly £7.We often as not just buy fish from the Fishmonger and cook it ourselves.

Haddock was always the No.1 fish used but a number of years ago due to overfishing limits were put on how many could be caught.This resulted in fish like Vietnamese cobbler,Hake, and various others being introduced.Cod which is more popular in England now became more widely used here.What's happened now is Haddock stocks have recovered and Cod is limited.Edinburgh has a Population of nearly half a million and god knows how many "Chippys" there are.
