hard to figure out why some use the list when the thumbs show all apts & whether anything may be happening & show the apt name when the pointer is hovered. 3 things in 1 motion. name list shows name & nothing else.

If you want to skip to a particular apartment the "name list" is the most straight forward. You see the name - you click it. With the thumbnails it's an ever changing guessing game - you need to hover over many thumbnails (that keep changing within each apartment) to locate the particular apartment that you're looking for. 

Thumbnails are good for discovering where the current action is assuming you have a very large monitor or that you use some kind of zooming extension.

Conclusion:

Name list: Best for when you know where you want to go.
Thumbnails: Best for discovery (if you have the right setup)

you said it well. those that want to see action use thumbs. those that watch only certain apts use apt list.

The issues are that to use the name list you usually need to scroll down the page, and to add salt to injury, once you scroll and find the apartment that you're looking for and click it you need to scroll back up to see the video... WTF?
