OK, Squish, I'll bite. What's a Gopnik? I tried several resources and nothing
would translate it. 😊

Gopnik is a slang Russian derogatory term used to describe a young, white male member of the lower class in Russia

Ok Lets lool..........you should have looked on Google ::) 👌

Everybody's a critic! I used google translate, among others, and when
it wouldn't translate, I figured it was a made-up word and I wouldn't find a
definition on a search.

So, on your "advice"…here's what Wiki has to say.

Gopnik is a pejorative stereotype describing a particular subculture in Russia,
Ukraine, and other former Soviet republics to refer to young men or women of
sometimes lower-class suburban areas coming from families of poor education
and income. The female form is gopnitsa, and the collective noun is gopota.
The subculture of Gopniks has its roots in late Russian Empire and evolved
during the 20th century in many cities in the Soviet Union.

Smartass!

Still no news.

I do not want to disappoint you my friend but I think it is highly unlikely they will come back. Even when he rents the appartement in Australia he should be done by now. And do not forget this place collected many many fines before. I can't imagine the managers are eager to have them back.

And yet he was said to be looking for an apartment. This could have been incorrect however.
