The whole neighborhood was proud as we would be able to know someone who was in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving parade. My father took a picture of him as they passed our viewing location during the parade. The next week, he presented a copy of the photo to his parents as a token of our collective pride. The photograph showed him visibly, amongst all the other band members, but also revealed that he was clearly out of step. When the neighbor father so the photograph, he denied that was his son. "It looks kinda like him but it's not him" he said. "Who can tell?" "They are all wearing the same uniform".
