When you use the Windows Key + PrtScn shortcut to take a screenshot, especially if you've never used it before, it may not be readily apparent where Windows stores the screenshots. It saves them in D:\"Username"\Pictures\Screenshots. Be sure to change the drive letter and 'Username' to what's appropriate for your system. For example, your Pictures folder may be stored on your C: drive.

These articles should be very useful for the Windows screenshot app, as well as the Snipping Tool.

One thing to note when using this method to take screenshots is that they are saved in PNG format and can't be set to save as jpg. So the file size will be a lot bigger  when PNG.

Right click on the PNG Picture and open the Picture with Paint. From there it can be converted to .JPG or .JPEG to obtain a smaller size.

It wasn't my suggestion originally, I was just letting people know where to find the screenshots. But, as Stone noted, there are ways to convert the file type, such as apps and online sites. You can also reduce the file size the same way. There are many apps and sites that will do that for you with no loss of quality. One little app I use is called Fileminimizer.

Something else to be aware of. While the PNG format will have a larger file size, it will also have a higher quality because it's a lossless format, while JPG is a lossy format.

That is true but if you take a lot of screenshots that gonna take some time hehe, i've been there but thought it was to much work to change them all so I dropped it. But I read there are programs who can convert them all in one go. Here is something about it https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/19/technology/personaltech/convert-photo-files-bulk.html
