Current Events in the News (commentary) Split #2

I am not going to engage in heavy debate here. I know better when it comes to some of these topics but I am curious. woodworker you refer to a "communist stronghold." Now in a communist regime, all business and property is owned publicly. I'm just not seeing that here.

I too know better than to beat my head against the wall when it comes to debating liberals, whether you yourself are one or not.  But I am referring to all those that seem to wish to destroy our Constitution, and our founding principles.  Things such as universities that are filled with this hate America bilge and are doing their part to indoctrinate these young, gullible, spoiled brats, that take their freedoms for granted.

That and the liberal media as well, and in the many other ways to where they try to breed this class envy and jealousy towards those who are well off, or perhaps even rich.

I myself am not rich, but I refuse to walk around just seething with jealousy as so many of those imbeciles, such as the occupy Wall Street crowd seem to do.

The one thing that I do know about these scummy people is that they are all blatant hypocrites.

If you were to toss into this occupy crowd a ten million dollar winning lottery ticket, they would immediately start to scramble and kick, and gouge each others eyes out in order to try to procure that winning ticket for themselves.  All of the sudden they wouldn't hate the rich so much anymore.

The topic I was referring to when I said "It's refreshing to see an administration pursue a course of peace." was the Iran deal which now has enough support to go through.

So why do you think the West has really done a deal with Iran? Anything to do with the fact that it has the fourth largest oil reserves in the world? Keen to sell their oil, they could potentially flood the market, destabilising the world oil price and other Middle East economies.

Maybe the fact that many countries are already geared up to sell millions in consumables to 77 million people, deprived for all these years, who will be keen to buy with their new found wealth.

Or maybe it’s because Iran is the main Shia power in the Middle East, which may aid in creating greater co-operation in the fight against the Sunni Islamic State.

However, has anyone considered the fact that countries like Saudi Arabia and other staunchly Sunni countries, now consider a richer Iran with so much Western support could be more of a threat, with a real danger and fear that they may support Shia militias or rebels in countries like Yemen or Iraq.

Israel, who has been betrayed by the Obama administration, will never trust Iran to stop developing an atomic bomb, despite its promises. As Iran has always expressed a desire to destroy Israel, the Israelis will no doubt increase their military posture to defend a potential attack, now made easier with the lifting of sanctions.

The reality is, the deal in the short term will have financial gains, but in the long term, has more potential to destabilize the Middle East even further, something the US and their allies have always been successful in achieving every time they interfere.

This is in the Utopian pipe dream of Marxism.  In a communist regime all businesses are owed by the State.  If you don't think that is happening here in the U.S. think again.  Look how the State meddles in everyone's business affairs. Look at the actual tax rates for businesses and what the IRS does to those who don't pay taxes (everyone that's not democrat or a politician).  Look at what the EPA does to local farmers and ranchers.  Look at what it takes to put up a new business with all the regulatory standards and god forbid you don't use a union to build.  Look at the redistribution of wealth.  They take my hard earned money and give it to some illegal immigrant who is claiming welfare under one name and working under another name.  I don't know about you, but it pisses me off when a Mexican has the same salary as me has an ebt card and a cadilac escalade with 22" chrome rims on it, then 10 kids pile out of it. I can barely afford my used f-150 and my wife has to work to keep up with bills.    This country that was once where people came to work their asses off and make it on their own, has now become a country where people come to get a hand out and expect a hand out.  A country where a burger flipper makes more than most lower enlisted in the military (specialist and below).  If you don't think this country is going to hell your wrong and when shit hits the fan I will be on the side of the Constitution. I took an oath and I will never break that. Go ahead and keep your head in the sand.

Everything you have said is absolutely true and something that I have known myself for years.

The EPA is not about protecting the environment, but is instead a thuggish arm of the Democrat party.

If you do not donate and contribute to the Democrat party, or worse yet, if they are notified that you have actually contributed to the Republican party instead, they will set out to try to destroy your business.

Look at what they had done and had tried to do to the makers of Gibson guitars.  A company that has been a source of pride here in America for many, many years.  It is nothing short of extortion.

Here's something else that needs to be mentioned.

When it comes to campaign donations, the one thing that you do not want is 'transparency'.

It may seem like a good idea to be able to know who is donating what to who, but the Democrats have abused this situation as well, and have turned it into a nightmare for decent people who may have wanted to support the Republican party instead.

A case in point:  There was a restaurant that donated to the Republican party, and because of this idea of transparency it showed the Democrats just that.

They then sent in a couple of queers, oops, I'm sorry, I meant homosexuals, who then told them that they wanted that restaurant to cater to their wedding.

The proprietors said that they can not do that because it goes against their deeply held religious views.

Well, they were soon served with a law suit and a whole host of defamatory publicity, and the restaurant was forced to go out of business.    So much for the Constitution and the freedom of religion.

The husband and wife who owned that restaurant just couldn't afford all the legal expenses.

They also attacked "Chick-Fil-A" in this very same way if you remember, because they too had supported the Republicans as well.

So unfortunately, decent people don't dare have their contributions being exposed so openly in this way, not so long as there are scum like these that now make up the Democrat party.    It's enough to make you sick!

This may not be exactly on topic, but another thing that has gotten out of hand is the enforced use of credit and the giving away of earned value.

My wife and I have chosen to live within our means instead of relying on credit to get stuff we normally can't afford. It has been tough sometimes but in the end we get what we need and want (when it's reasonable). Then I see some family, who lives on handouts (welfare, subsidized housing, etc), gets mad when they can't have what they want, and then sues for it. My old landlord was sick and tired of the hike of the property taxes which have tripled for him over the last 5 years. When we moved in 5 years ago his taxes were about $4500/yr; this year they are $12,400! For a $290K home! He gave up and put his house up for sale so we had to move. Now we get bitten by the credit hounds; since we don't have a credit card and haven't had any loans in more than a decade we don't pass credit checks and can't get a loan for a house we can clearly afford, and prospective landlords wouldn't even look at us. Luckily our old landlord stepped in and bargained with the new landlord to trust us as responsible tenants. So, what happens next? His house gets bought by a developer who is going to put in section 8 (gov't subsidized) housing so that the "less fortunate" will have a nice new, safe place to live. Our old neighborhood was older and well kept with little or no crime. The taxes went up artificially, because people were tearing down the old $200K house and erecting two $450K+ houses on the same lot, but now with this going-to-be-slum dwelling going in, all the gentrification that has driven us out will now be destroyed by the new residents who will destroy the neighborhood within a few years. I don't know where most of you live but I know Woody is seeing this where he lives (We're practically neighbors).

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/putin-censorship-regime-now-reaches-090000615.html

Once again, a relentless move toward Totalitarianism, in a place that accepts it as a national tradition.

I wonder if Kiko & Nora ever saw the movie "Dr. Zhivago." I doubt their parents or grandparents did.

As with almost everything that has occurred with this administration this action will be surrounded with outrage, dramatic claims, dire predictions, rumors and conspiracy theories.

What action?

Let's start with an inevitable nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Israel isn't going to twiddle its thumbs on this, and neither will the Saudi's. We're not talking about technologically backward nations here governed by insane religious megalomaniacs, and they fully understand what Iran wants to do with them.

Putin has his concerns, and as usual, the Russian is "...a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma," to quote a man whose bust was removed from the White House. The thing about Putin is that he feels compelled to aid Iran while at the same time wanting to restrict the world oil supply and obtain a warm water port.

Obama is a child of the Third ComIntern, an Operative, hell bent on the restricting the sovereign liberties of the individual (without economic liberty of the individual, there is NO individual liberty.) His goal is his legacy, and the remaking of America with a State-Capitalist authoritarianism.

What we have here is a clear recasting of Game of Thrones.

I've been cast as a "Road Kill Extra." So have millions of other innocent people.

Essentially all I'm reading here is, "kill them all", "stop them breeding", "fucking politicians".

I assume by now you've seen the photographs of dead toddlers and children washed up on European beaches right?  Yet some of the posts here show just how little compassion some of us in the West actually have.  You say you're better than these people, in what way exactly?

This crisis is an opportunity for people like you to actually show that you are better than the people you believe these "immigrant scum", to be - show that you are willing to help instead of final solutioning every discussion . People like you voted for the politicians that bombed the fuck out of these countries - for all you Obama haters, everything in Iraq and the wider middle-east was kicked off on the Republican watch. The Democrats are doing fuck all about it anyway so the Obama administration has as much blood on its hands too.

The Prime Minister of GB has referred to these people as a "migrant swarm" even whilst there are daily reports of thousands of people dying and photos of children's drowned bodies on beaches.  The leaders of the "free world" don't give a flying fuck about you, me or them, they care only about the $$$.  Yet we fucking vote in clone after clone after clone and moan about it when they do the exact same thing as the previous guy.

The simple fact is that the leaders we elected in the West put in to action the chain of events that have devastated the Middle East causing whole populations to flee. We fucking elected them, so it's our fault.  If you hate these people who are trying to escape the bombed out ruins of their former countries then you are literally worse than them, they've done nothing to you yet you hope that more of them die on the way here? Shame on you.

I was going to put the pictures of the poor children lying on the beaches up here but as I understand it I'm under threat of being banned for disagreeing with any of you so I'm sure that those tragic pictures would tip your hand. Free speech huh, gotta love the West.

Head over to The Guardian or The Telegraph if you would like to see the mainstream media's account of what's actually going on.

The Guardian and The Telegraph? I don't need to read some left wing greenie rag, (and yes I know they claim centre left) to find out what the mainstream media is promoting.

We've had lots of people drowning trying to get to Australia, women and kids as well as men, but not anymore. Why? BECAUSE WE STOPPED THE BOATS. WE TURNED THEM AROUND WITH AMPLE FUEL AND WATER TO GET BACK. IN SOME CASES EVEN PROVIDED THEM A BETTER BOAT. WE STOPPED ENCOURAGING THEM WITH FALSE PROMISES. WE MADE IT QUITE CLEAR THAT NONE WOULD BE ALLOWED TO SETTLE IN AUSTRALIA IF THEY TRIED TO COME IN THROUGH THE BACK DOOR.

Flooding Europe with refugees will achieve nothing except guarantee bankrupting countries that are already struggling financially.

At the peak of the war in Afghanistan, America had approximately 100,000 troops on the ground. The other members of the UN forces brought this figure up to around 150,000 maximum. Germany alone is expecting 800,000 refugees just this year. You could probably double that figure if you add in all the other countries struggling under the current influx.

Are you really trying to tell me that there aren't enough fit and capable men and women that could fight to protect their homelands, instead of expecting every other country in the world to do it for them? Everyone keeps telling me that the radicals are only a minority. Good, then let the majority do something about it and fix there own problems instead of fucking everyone else.
