Clapton and Townshend skipped Cream and Who gigs to go together and queue up and watch him play around London for weeks at the end of 1966. Jeff Beck walked out of his first London show shaking his head, telling Pete as he left "I didn't know he was THAT good". We also here had someone incredible. But for whatever reason, still, after his death, never gets anywhere near the credit he richly deserves. On his day, he was better then, than Clapton, Beck, Page, Blackmore. BB King said he was the only white player he heard who sent a shiver down his spine when he played. His playing flows like the smoothest river. This one is a belter all through. Starts off with a duo in front of Little Richard's backing band at the time. Guitarist looks interesting.
