Personally I prefer the Firkin, Furlong and Fortnight system.

A millifortnight is a coffee break and a microfortnight is roughly 1 second.

Also the barleycorn (1/3 inch) is underrecognised.

The Metric system is the only one that is truely sientific, and based solely on logic.
1000 millimeters = 100 centimeters = 10 decimeter = 1 meter. 1000 meters = 100 decameters = 10 hectometers = 1 kilometer. You can also convert between measurements! 1 cubic decimeter = 1 liter = 1 kilogram.

The opposite is the case. The SI system is the worldwide accepted basis for units. Even most of the U.S. customary units are defined via this system.

There is only the USA (and a few other small countries) that have not yet converted. Nevertheless most U.S. units are defined by the si base units.
