Maybe "accept" was the wrong word to use, Jen. Alberto probably never mentally "accepted" Martina's lesbian episodes. What I should have said was maybe "tolerated" or "ignored" or something similar. I think he was fearful that he was going to lose her, at that point, so he made a deal with the devil (with himself) to do anything to keep together......maybe thinking it was going to pass. Unfortunately, it didn't work out in the long run.

I do remember, years back, some of those fucking sessions between the two of them were just that.....fucking. Alberto wasn't the most thoughtful or romantic lover sometimes but there were times that Martina seemed satisfied.

I agree with you that Martina is probably bisexual. If the right guy came along, down the road, I believe she'd fuck his brains out...LOL

Also, I've thought all along that Martina's lesbian adventures may just be sexual experimentation, as young people are apt to try. It may be something that phases out in the future and, as you said, she'll settle down with a guy she's crazy about. My guess is he'll be similar to Alberto in personality, giving her guidance and stability which she seems to seek and had in happier years with him. 

As both of us and many others have said, M&A will most likely stay friends after their roads get less bumpy. They are a part of each other's history and that's difficult to throw away. 

And as Tom Hanks said in "Castaway"........"Who knows what the tide will bring in?" One day in the future, Martina may visit Alberto at his little house somewhere in Catalonia and never leave.

Well written post.  I agree FWB can take on many different flavors.  I mentioned before Masha and her black military friend.  But clearly these two did not have exclusivity and/or they did not communicate clearly about this.  
 

I’m interested in knowing what other guys here think about your view that Alberto would be less demoralized if Martina was fucking another man.  Remember when this was going on with Nelly … the prevailing view was that Alberto accepted her bisexuality but would never be happy if she fucked a man … which was cited as a reason why Bodgdan did not join in.

I don’t think all FWB relationships are doomed.  But they are definitely fraught with landmines and require excessive communication between the partners.

FWB is just that, Friends who occasionally fuck with no emotional attachment, I have had many FWB relationships, they tend to go south when one partners forgets what it's all about & thinks they would like to build a relationship.

 

Martina & Alberto were far from FWB's in the beginning, It's obvious it started as a loving relationship, then Martina experimenting turned it into an open relationship, even to the extent on New Years Eve of trying to involve another couple in their bedroom antics, quite often open relationships can cause couples to either strengthen or drift apart, it would seem M & A became the latter, they were never FWB's because FWB's don't live together & sleep in the same bed as if they were in a monogamous relationship. I think Martina continuing a sexual relationship with Alberto was due to her own confusion of what she wanted or where she was in her own mind.

IIRC, it was posted on CC that Martina was 15 when she first met Alberto.  And that Alberto is 5-10 years older than Martina.

Martina had to be 18 to become a participant.  So she and Alberto were fucking before they both decided the leave their provincial town for the big city. And once in the big city, they quickly appeared on RLC.

So is it possible that (1) Alberto took Martina's virginity, and (2) Alberto is the only guy she has fucked?  (An exception to (2) may be Marta's bf.  Too much casual familiarity at the New Year's party between the two couples.)

IMO, Martina has increasingly become disappointed in Alberto.  It was posted on CC that after arriving in this new apartment, he spoke with his mother, and promised her he would attend a trade school and learn a skill.  (For example, to become a chef, or mechanic.)  He never did.  And subsequently, he has revealed that he has little knowledge of financial matters.

And I now wonder whether Martina sees a parallel between Alberto's early interaction with her (for example, the pursuit of young pussy) and his current passion for Juliette.
