    Hi Amy, this seems to be a very common fault with this model in that the fan is always on. One possible solution i have read is that if you have nvidia graphics set for default some say witching it to Intel. That seems to work for some but as i said this does seem to be a common fault with this model and many are moaning about it. Some say a bios update may have fixed it so worth checking your bios version and see if there is a later update available. Must admit i was always a fan of Dell years ago but since then i much prefer either HP or Acer makes to be honest. Best of luck.
