Lot Lizards are prostitutes that hang around truck stops looking for some action. We don't have any truck stops in our city so Macs Milk parking lots is where to find them here.  $20 can get some nice lip service.

Ugh that's gross! 20 bucks will also get you crabs and a dose of the clap as they called it in the old days.

This is for the people running around panicked by the media. Good Lord!

In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died. That’s fairly on par with a typical season, and well below the CDC’s 2017-2018 estimates of 48.8 million illnesses, 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.

The 2 are not comparable. The flu has a mortality rate of 0.1%, whereas COVID-19 has a mortality rate of about 4%. So, even if the contagious level was the same then, which it’s not, you’d be looking at 1.2 million COVID-19 deaths in comparison. People who support treating this like the flu are saying that we should just tolerate 1.2 million deaths.

Amy ---even the professionals do not know the total of active cases because of the lack of testing.  Therefore, because they assume the total number is a lot higher than is recorded, then the overall known death rate percentage would be lower than is currently calculated.

Everyone hiding away in their homes and not going to work or school, which has led to hoarding food and supplies, and food programs for the poor to be shut down, will lead to a recession and desperate people trying to survive and feed their families, and the usual scumbags who will try to take advantage of the fear and panic that will ramp up as time goes by, great plan. Then when the numbers drop and we go back to normal, if we have no vaccine, the numbers will rise again. I dont get the point of this plan!

Take your worry about food programs and apply it to ventilators in hospitals.  There are only so many beds with ventilators available in each hospital.  So the worry isn't just about those who need ventilators to survive a coronavirus infection.  People who have a heart attack will likely need a ventilator to survive, if you have a bad car accident you will likely need a ventilator to survive, if have preeclampsia as a complication of pregancy you will need a ventilator to survive.  The list goes on and on.  If we have every ventilator in a city being used because we allow this virus to quickly spread then we will start seeing the mortality rate skyrocket like we have in Wuhan and Italy.  We will also get to make the fun choice, the 70 year old with coronavirus or the 50 year old who needs bowel cancer surgery.  Or how about the 70 year old with coronavirus or the 8 year old that touched a peanut?  Who will get the last available ventilator?

So the plan is simple, we stay away from each other as best we can to limit the impact on our hospital's ability to help people breathe.  We don't want spikes were people who need ventilators to survive don't have them available.

2019-nCoV is not the flu. Just consider how extreme China's countermeasures were. Do you really think that this was just based on a media hype? In China?!? A country where there is no free media. Bullshit.

I agree, there is no reason for panic and stupid herd behaviour (such as hoarding). However, it is still important to follow the recommendations of science to flatten the impact of the virus. Otherwise, due to a lack of resources , not everyone will receive the appropriate treatment.

With the flu, time is of little help. Here it would be important that more people get vaccinated. With 2019 nCoV time will help to save people or at least provide them with appropriate treatment.

BTW, The hope is great that we will have a vaccine relatively quickly (maybe to the beginning of next year).
